(this is a rant, ye've been warned) ok, so i'm printing out my newly-edited Crime and punishment essay, it comes off the printer all nice and sparkly.... and theres a page number on the first page, which should be there. ...odder still, that number is a big 'ol "2". ?? so i go into the headers (which i HATE, because it is [i]so[/i] badly designed, and every essay i eventually get it to do what i want through a different set of buttons and curses) and go ahead and check the box that says 'different first page' to get my name off the top corner because, hey, its the first page, my name's already there. i also delete the page number. back in the document, i look at the page number in the bottom bar, and low and behold, page 1 is labled page 2. oh, but it gets better- i scroll down, what do i see? ok, so the second page is labled page 3, thats to be expected- but then on the third page, we seem to have another page 2. hmm. followed by a[i]nother[/i] page 3, then finally, on the fifth actuall page, we have page 4. why? no no, nonno, i mean, [i]W H Y ?[/i] so i figure, screw the numbers, i'll put them in by hand- now i just have to fix the name. easy enough, right? i go to the 1st (actual) page, in the header select 'different first page' and then go ahead and delete my name. ok, its good- my name is not on the first page, but it is on all the others....... ...except the middle one, page 3 (which the computer is refering to as page 2). can i get anotehr [i]why[/i]? finally, i just closed the whole document, praying for once that i HADN'T saved recently; when i reopened it was still calling page one page 2, and page five page 4, but the name thing seemed to have resolved itself. bill gates, this is for you :finger:

Had to reorder my checks, so I was perusin' the examples [at www.ClarkeAmerican.com] and came across ones titled "Eastern Expressions"... Was hoping to find maybe the character for "Serenity" but nada. Some nice characters, tho. Including the character for Qi/Ch'i. Plus the info lines have Chinese characters for "Pay to the order of" etc. Shiny.

Must be some browncoats in the Product ordering division or else it just sells out everytime. Whatever works. Time to stock up if you haven't.

I just got done watching this amazing film. It's a documentary done by Spike Lee for HBO called "When The Levees Broke: A Requiem In Four Acts". As you can probably guess it's about hurricane Katrina and New Oreleans, and it was SO powerful. I mean, there were times I was mad as hell, then there were times I just broke down in tears. It just affects you so much to see that we are the wealthiest country in the world, yet we let our people suffer like that for FIVE DAYS. It just goes to show you how truly inept our government is. There's so much I could talk about here, but instead, I'm going to urge everyone to see this movie. I got it from my local library, so you might be able to find it at yours.

That's right! [b]I'm[/b] using the money I collected to pay for "The Chosen collection," to pay, to put gas in the car that my brother is driving! He hasn't done a damn thing since he's had his license except waste gas driving to school! Why can't [b]I[/b] be the one to drive to school, if he's not going to pay! How is making me pay for gas, in a car I DON'T drive FAIR!

Sorry I haven't been to the site in a while... got a good reason though, was able to convince people to become Browncoats. I moved to Ohio in the fall, where little did I know that Ohio has got a big Browncoat population, something like 14% have taken a liking to the Serenityverse. I also joined Crew, so I've had little time to be on the web. (Side not: next year a new boat will be named Serenity) So Summer just began and now I can get back home see all my CA buddies, and see Serenity in Pasadena at Serenity Day! It's good to be back.
