Had some Firefly/Serenity cards that I picked up from the Browncoat table a DragonCon. Not the downloadable kinds, but the 'things to do' business card types. I should have taken more, but ...anyway. I swooped into Target. Looking for Firefly Box set - nodda. So I decided to leave a calling card or 2. The DVD area is pretty limited and unorganized, but I found an Angeldvd, and left one card there. Then at Blockbuster, I left a few cards....one in front of a Trekies dvd, another buy an XBox Riddick game, and I forget where else. I'll use some of the downloadable flyers that I snagged. Prob try those at Best Buy or maybe at a coffee joint. Oh, per the discussion that there will likely be an animated version ( please ) of Serentiy, I finally checked out AniMatrix and Chronicles of Riddick : Dark Fury. Just gonna try to get a feel for how those are and see what might be in store for us Browncoats.

I'm a fanfic writer. I'll admit to that. I wrote my first Buffy fic back in the third season and a friend of mine actually said it was good. Now that caught me by surprise. First off, I hadn't told her where the find the story, but secondly, I hadn't really considered the story to be all that good. I still don't when I find myself visiting the website where it's posted. I just like to write. Most times I think my stuff is crap and I don't end up finishing it but sometimes, by some freak miracle, I do complete something that doesn't make me cringe and I find the guts to post it. Right now I'm writing a Firefly fic, for no apparent reason, and I can't stop. It's weird, having this constant flow of ideas. Usually with a Buffy or Angel fic of mine, I have this initial burst of inspiration but it quickly wears off and I end up with a section of story that's going nowhere. I'm entering about the middle of the Firefly fic and I don't hate it. I know, I'm shocked my own self. Okay, so I'm worried about characterization and whether I'm using too many Chinese phrases in one part of the story, but I haven't had any thoughts about giving up. That's inspiration for ya. Maybe when I'm done writing, I'll post it here. Of course, that’s after a beta reader has seen it. Anyone?

Keeps what away, I wonder? Well, maybe I'll find out. Never tried this blogging stuff before. It's late-- though not for me-- and I'm tired, and cranky, and I should go to bed, but I don't want to, so I'm finding things to do with myself in the meantime. Mostly, I'm trying to find a house to live in. God, but I would like to have a house, and not be renting anymore. Soon, soon, soon. Today I went and saw my parents for the first time in a long time. This would be why I am tired and cranky now. :banghead: We don't get along. At least things were mostly civil this evening. Well, enough whining for now I guess. Hopefully tomorrow will be easier. Okay, I feel the need to blog. I need some sort of platform from which to share these next two weeks of anticipation, aprehension and a lot of stress. On September 24 at 6:30 in the evening, I will watch my bride-to-be come walking down the aisle to become my wife. Now that thought brings all sorts of good feelings while at the same time making my think "just what in the hell am I doing?" I've had some commitment issues for a long while (revealing time here, folks) due to my heart being very viciously broken in the past by a girl that I thought loved me. Now don't get me wrong; I love my fiance, and I'm looking forward to the "Do you Aaron take Nicole...", but it took me a long time to get to the point where I could open up again without having to constantly fear that I would get my heart stomped on again. Hell, I broke up with her twice, not because I stopped loving her or because she stopped loving me, but because I was afraid of getting close to someone again. She took me back both times, though, and somehow restored my faith in that not everyone is out to ruin my life. She's good for me, and good to me. Better than I'm worthy of, believe me. So for now, I'll deal with the jitters and put together more furniture in our apartment (typical male here: before any other furniture was in the apartment, I had the entertainment center built with the TV all hooked up and working). If anyone has any advice for me these next 2 weeks, PLEASE GIVE IT!! This is Soul, signing off. Until next time, folks.
