On the drift....again

So.

Beta reader #5 seems to have thrown in the towel.

I'm almost ready to do the same.

Seriously, what the hell is the problem? It can't be that bad of a story. But I've been trying to tell it for almost two years now, the latter half of which I've spent just trying to get feedback on the first few chapters - it's been over a month already since the last chapter I sent to beta #5. I'm patient to a fault, because I know people get insanely busy with real life et al. I'm reminded quite keenly, however, of what Uncle Joss once said about the bizarre blow of having a story in his head and suddenly not getting to tell it. I really, REALLY want to tell this story, especially now that it's got a good straight and solid direction to go in, but don't think I can do it without a little help.

I'm thinking of giving it one more shot, and if beta reader #6 should surface and then go into hiding after the first three or four chapters....well, either give it up or go it alone, I guess. Neither of which I'm much one to do at the moment. There's more to this, and I'm not going to dump it all out here, just....just ONCE, I wish I could tell a story in any genre or medium and get SOME portion of feedback from SOMEWHERE.
