| HAKEN: If the outlets in the basement shares the same electrical circuit upstairs, an AC ethernet adapter would be perfect for your needs. You basically plug one of the adapters (they come in pairs) into an outlet near the router, connect the adapter to the router using an ethernet cable, plug the matching adapter into an outlet in the basement, and then connect your computer or another router to the adapter using an ethernet cable.
