According to The Futon Critic, Firefly earned a 3.0 rating and 5 share in the metered markets and its worst score to date for the series. And in the fast nationals, which covers 100% of all households in the U.S., 'Firefly' fell to fourth place in both half-hours in the 18 to 49 demographics. 'John Doe,' on the other hand, finished second.
However, it's worth noting that in an article published by Variety, FOX is mentioned as topping its hours in the important 18-34 male demographics, which both 'Firefly' and 'John Doe' specifically targets for the night.
