Hi, I'm new too! It's great isn't it? I just can't get enough of Firefly and this is one of the only fun Firefly-related things to do whilst counting down the days to Serenity! October 7th (UK people)! WOOHOO! I also agree with CHRISTHECYNIC. I've just done that, but it sure is hard. VERY hard.

...and we will call it...this land...

Welcome Fantasticlaughingfairy AND Birdandbear!
I'm with Christhecynic, absence makes the heart grow fonder. As I've just discovered and purchased Buffy, it's not as hard for me right now to do! Poke around in here, leave no stone unturned ('cept Troll country).

Glad to have ya!

And yet another "newbie" here. A northern Browncoat and crew.

I found out about Firefly by stumbling on metion of it while surfin' the web for blueprints of spaceships-I know pretty geeky but I won't tell if you don't. I actually found 2 shows I hadn't heard of, Firefly and SAAB. I took a chance and bought the box set ($60.00 CAN), and sat down one night with a fellow softballer and our wives, both of which aren't big space movie fans. We proceeded to watch a few episodes together every Friday. The end result is 4 Rabid fans. And we're working on recruiting more.

Are you familiar with the comic books?

I had heard of some of these. I'm not usually a comic fan, but Joss has surprised me enough times to make me believe in anything he has a hand in. Thanks for the list! Now I know what to look for....before I just knew that there were a bunch of comics set in the Jossverse, but had no idea which ones he wrote himself. And I did NOT know about the Serenity book. Yay!

And OMG King fans! b&b is my screen name on every board I frequent(it's just simpler that way). This is the first time ever, that anyone has understood what it meant right off the bat. Usually I have to explain...SO cool!!

CHRISTHECYNIC - Ive just tried out your strategy. It had been several months since the last (and first) time I watched Firefly, and I just watched it again over the space of a few days. It was wonderful! I had forgotten a lot of detail, since I had only seen it once, and it was like the first time again only even better! I watched Our Mrs. Reynolds very late at night in our room, with my poor husband who had to be at work early, sleeping next to me....I kept having to cram a pillow in my mouth to muffle the uncontrollable giggles that just kept getting louder.....great stuff!

Sigmanuki - Nope. How's that song go? "If loving Joss is wrong, I don't wanna be right...."

And everyone else - thanks so much for the warm welcome! Maybe it sounds kinda sad, but the warm reception here has sort of mitigated what has otherwise been a pretty crappy week. I'm very much looking forward to lots of good debatey fun here. You guys rock!
