true. this is a valid point. how about we make it more of a thread about, as someone said, movie serials where multiple (more than 3) movies are released involving the same universe (ie characters, places etc). obviously, not all sets of movies are intended to be trilogies or referred to as trilogies even if there are only three movies in the series. for instance, i am not sure if anyone ever calls it "the mighty ducks trilogy". of course, this opens a whole new can of worms with things like bond movies where there are, what are they up to now? 20? 21? gracious!

As long as you allow the Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy Trilogy (the books, I mean), since Douglas Adams deliberately called it a trilogy despite there being 4 of them
