Hiya,

This may seem an odd question, but as i'm getting nowhere with google i thought here might be the best place to ask:
Does anyone know the name of the type of collar on the shirts that Book wears?
I thought it was a band, stand up or grandpa (having been looking into collar styles) but they all meet at the front whereas Book's overlaps to the side.

I think it was custom-tailored. Modified from the pattern for a normal clerical shirt.

Thank you for the replies! thats what I suspected. I had looked at clerical shirts but all the collars met at the front so thought it was worth asking in case it was type of shirt/collar with an obscure name that I wasn't aware of.

If you have any luck finding a comparable shirt, I'd be interested in hearing about it. I've given some thought to dressing up as Book for Halloween but haven't taken it much further than wistful musings. (in other words, I'm always looking to ride on the coattails of others ).

As far as I can tell, it's a modified "neckband collar", and instead of using a standard plasticky white collar (the neckband kind go all the way around, rather than just the tabs that most clergy wear), the costume department made the extended tab collar on the grey part, and then made a fabric white band underneath.

My friend's dad is a priest, and I went poking at some of his shirts to check...
