a couple of quick angel questions

i have just a couple of quickie musings to pose to everyone.
1. in the finale, did vail not see illyria when she came in to help wes? he apparently did not know that "fred" was actually illyria or something other than a human woman since he taunts her and eventually gets his skull smashed in. i am assuming that the fireball that wes blew up with his last strength knocked vail out for a bit so he did not see illyria come in. am i correct in assuming this?
2. also in the finale, what is the meaning of this exchange between connor and angel:
angel: go home
connor: they'll destroy you.
angel: as long as you're OK, they can't.
i cannot figure out what angel means. is it one of those "a little bit of me will live on in you since you are my child" kind of thing?

1. That's what I thought. The fireball knocked Vail out for a little bit, and when he came to there was a sweet looking little woman crying.. easy target. ;)
2. Your guess is correct. It's definitely a "you live through your children" comment. Angel doesn't mind dying as long as Connor is okay.

me too! without them airing the episodes (in order!), i never would have seen the show! i got to see all the episodes from start to finish. it was great!

I enjoy the TNT reruns, too, but it ticks me off how the commercial breaks are edited, i.e., not where they're supposed to occur! Really disrupts the flow of the story. Just wanted to vent about that.

I agree, that is really annoying...
but not as bad as FX when they rerun Buffy:
they cut in extra ads where they don't belong
cutting a few minutes off the show to make room,
AND they put those loud obnoxious 'crawls' for other shows
across the bottom of the screen when the show starts again,
coverin up part of the screen and making it hard to hear dialogue
(it really annoys me).

oh i absolutely detest that too! it drives me bonkers. fade to black in the middle of a dialogue and then revealing the end to a suspenseful scene without even a moment to catch your breath! it makes absolutely no sense to me why they do that.
still, getting to see all the episodes for free kind of made up for that.

Ditto! And notice how those annoying things have gotten larger and larger over time? I'd not be surprised if they were running subliminal messages in between every few frames to promote other upcoming shows. Makes me wanna
