John Does lasted two more seasons longer than Firefly. The "third season" was rather clipped, and they rushed the storyline quite a bit to resolve the plot threads. The first and second seasons were the best of all the eps. With the rushing of the last episodes, the whole tone and tempo of the show changed into something completely different than what had gone on before, leaving people (including me) disappointed with how the show ended.

And good to have an old school fan around, I too loved FF at 8pm and John Doe at 9pm :)

I stopped watching John Doe when they cancelled Firefly...

As did I. It wasn't that I didn't like John Doe, it was just that I couldn't bear to tune into that channel.
