I find it most likely that joss and the crew are the ones that changed the order to deal with fox not showing the pilot. The voice overs were prob added after as well. I am sure they showed them in this order to try to get us into the universive sans the pilot. Also it seems to me that shindig/safe will lead into ariel much better then jaynestown would have. but again /shrug - i'm just lovin the ride.
