He refers to it as offbeat and oddball.

He finishes with, "To survive, these anti-authority figures must fly under the radar. Unfortunately, Firefly's willful weirdness appears to be consigning the show to a similar fate in the ratings. Let's hope Fox exercises some patience. Cult followings aren't born overnight."
