There is no real "dark side of the moon" true. However, that is what the side that never faces Earth is called because we can't see it. It isn't meant literally but figuratively.

I don't know, the plot sounds iffy. It could go either way depending on how good the writers and actors and directors are.

I'm not seeing the resembelance to Lost.

(Which, by the way, is a good show in its own right.)
