Hey, Metropolis...

Heavens, no...I'm not an overly happy person. In all actuality, nothing could be further from the truth. But I'm not here to lay my soul open to other lovers of sci-fi. I will say that other people make me very happy, since I am mostly homebound, and we are miles away from any large town or small city. No large cities out here. (I am from L.A., and went to school in Hollywood; you'd think I'd be that real nasty-mc-nasty with the crack habit you are suggesting.) Okay...I gotta ask: "syrupy"? Whadya mean? Because I come off as being polite? Or perhaps giving another a blessing is "just-too-weird"? So, you think mayhaps I shouldn't post 'cause I'm too "syrupy", and we don't wanna make anybody else (other than you) toss their cookies? Please do tell...honest feedback is actually important to me. Blessings to you and yours,

Magee

Metropolis...

I forgot to tell you how cute I think your G.I. Joe line is. How old are you? Blessings.

Hello, Sakrysta,

Thanks for the info. Well, then, we are a real happy bunch here since we get a 'real-live-motion-picture' with our favorite 'down home' sci-fi. Yeah...I got that KRAD is Keith's screen name. But thanks. I haven't been able to locate a 'search' feature for folks' user names. Some forums offer this feature. That's why I was looking for KRAD to see how I can get his book. But then I realized I read too hastily, and Keith was not the name of the individual who wrote to me, but the name of the sci-fi novelist. I did find POTEMKINVILLAGER's profile and his previous posting with the link to Keith's book on Amazon.

I noticed that there are some folks that have some fiction posted here. Maybe not entire books...dunno. Haven't had time to check them out yet. Do you think some of these are pretty good?

Be well, Sakrysta, and many blessings to you and yours,

Magee

Thanks. I thought I eyed some fiction. Will check them out when I've got some extra time. You never know...some of them are probably very good. Everybody's gotta start some where. Be well, and many blessings to you,

Magee-

I'm a 20 year old sophomore English major at the University of California, Berkeley. The GI Joe tag is from MST3K: The Movie. I have no objection to your posts, or even you. I suppose you just seem extremely energetic and almost overly grateful for the information provided you in the thread. I'm sure I sound cynical or mean when I make this distiction, but they did not save your life -- they simply told you the name of an author. I don't know, and I guess it really doesn't matter what complete strangers think of each other. That said, I hope you find your book and I hope it's all you want it to be.

Metropolis,

You are cynical, and it's a shame that you are at such a young age. Wait and learn more about people before prejudging that which you do not know. For God's sake, this is only a sci-fi forum and nothing more. I love the "Firefly" series, but it's not what I put all my faith in. You cannot possibly know an individual from a few postings. You have a great deal to learn. Patience, kindness and respect go a long way, and your posting was non-constructive and, as you said, mean. So why post it? It does matter what strangers think of one another. People always matter. You can't simply judge them from a few brief encounters, then stuff them into a categorical cube. Our world is crumbling because of a lack of respect for our fellow human being. I pray that you won't add to the sadness.

We love MST3K, too...it's one of our favorites. My husband has his bachelor's in English Literature and his Master's in Education. We both have a great deal of writing experience and have had some of our works published. My degree is in Counseling.

My comment about your citing G.I. Joe was only an illustration of the level of your maturity, not an attack on MST3K. I won't say that I haven't done some really dumb things myself, because I have. No one is exempt from making mistakes. But the best thing to come out of our mistakes is learning not to repeat them. We do indeed receive what we give. Many blessings to you and yours,

Magee
