In that case I hope that they are very tasty paper plates as I have little budget for party food.

I'd prefer the chipping in for pizza idea. We could all bring $5-7 apiece and just order from Pizza the Hut, or whatever is close. How many pizzas we'd get would be determined by how many people showed up (bigger turnout=more varieties). As to when, I'm open as long as it's after mid-November.

Sorry, folks. Just at the time I thought I was going to be available to go to a shindig, I'm going to have to go to jury duty instead. That could take anywhere from one day to ...who knows. Go ahead and make plans without me and I'll try to attend if/when it becomes possible.
If I can't make it at all, I hope you all have a great time.

On the OB, Nywoe_Annie (who organized our last Phoenix Shindig, aka "Meet The Parents") has suggested possibly taking an outing to laser tag
You can read and reply to her message through this link:

Or, in the interest of cross posting effeciency, you can read and reply to her message here, and I'll try to keep the boards coordinated.

Hi all!
Last weekend I played lasertag for the first time with my husband's company and it was a blast! So I starting thinking... Laser tag, shinding, laser tag, shinding... Hmmm, it just might work!
So I mostly just need to know from you guys what kind of interest there is in something like that. If we want to take over the arena, we need to have about 30 people or more, which would probably mean that we'd need to bring friends and family. I don't know how many of you have done laser tag before, but this is something that's fun for all ages!
I called Laser Quest to get prices. (We actually went to a different place last weekend, but somebody there said that Laser Quest was better.) They have 2 locations, one in Mesa and one in Phoenix by Peoria and I-17. http://www.laserquest.com/
If we had a large group, we could reserve the area for ourselves for $155 per 20-min game. That comes to about $5 per person per game if we have 30 people.
Option 2 (also requires a large group): We do a "lock-in" where we get the run of the place from midnight til 6am. Yes, that's 6 in the morning. The lady said that would be $30 per person. It sounds like a lot of fun, but I have a feeling most people's schedules would balk at such treatment.
Option 3: We just go and join the masses who are already playing there. That costs $7 per person per game and the benefit is that we don't need a lot of people, but then we don't get to be by ourselves either.
So... Whatdya think???
P.S.-- They have a party room that we could use as long as it's not already reserved.
P.P.S.-- It was the Mesa location that I called for these prices, so the Phoenix one might have different group programs.
Yeah, and if wishes were horses we'd all be eatin' steak.

Hi Willowy!
There was someone named Inarashair on the OB who lived in Prescott and was looking for someone to carpool with.

Then again, through the wonders of the internet, that may be the same person as you...

Hi Tribes,
Sorry you missed the last shindig. I'm still looking forward to meeting you and the wife!

Thanks Ha(s)ufel for being our cross-board ambassador! I have a hard time navigating the FFF threads, so I missed this one...
I'm up for any kind of shindig! I live out west near Sun City, but I know most of you guys are in the Tempe/ Mesa area, so I don't mind a slight commute...

LOL! You betcha that's me! Willowy was taken over there, can you believe it? I try for the same name all 'round but sometimes someone snags it before I do.
Your a pretty sharp cookie! ;)

Heh. Well, I guess you'll just have to clone yourself so Willowy and InarasHair can commute to Phoenix together!
