Mal is my favourite male character, and my favourite character overall. A great captain and a real hero. Plus a complex and interesting character. It is rare for a series lead to be my favourite character, I usually like one of the co-stars better.
My favourite female character is River. She is so sweet and funny, and when she's suffering she breaks my heart. Summer Glau is a great actress, doing well with a demanding role.

For all of you who weren't around for the poll in April, Malicious is a bit...uh...despondent because Mal lost to Jayne by 2 votes in the tie-breaker. And the bit about Neroli, see, I allowed her to vote for a fella named Gunhand. He was on FFF.net like the rest of us, and had a charming personality.
