6ixStringJack: There's no way Wish is coming back. Not only did I prove to her that I got her IP address without doxxing her, but I also showed her a picture of a church in her city to drive the point home. Her husband probably banned her from coming back here.

Talk about a stalker.

Hey Ted. Did you notice that nobody is coming back now?

I think you scared them all off already.

Pat yourself on the back, buddy.

Their security while here must be the priority.

You are talking about a single event that took place about 8 years ago.

You are also talking about people who were telling other members here to kill themselves every single day. I was able to get nearly everyone's IP address because nearly everyone who was still here had clicked on that link. I never posted full IP addresses of anybody that I collected. Even the bad actors. I just used it as a warning that if the death threats and constant calls for people to kill themselves didn't stop that I would cause trouble for them.

If you really cared about people's security, you would tell them not to use this site at all because it's made from ancient Web 1.0 tech, and any browser will tell you just left to the address bar that this website is NOT SECURE. Forget about a VPN. If you're using this site, whether you have a VPN or not, you'd better be using a PC that you NEVER use for other things like making purchases on a credit card, or logging into your Social Security or other government websites.

Hey Google... Why is HTTP: not secure?

Quote:

AI Overview
HTTP is not secure because it transmits data between a user's browser and a server in plain text, meaning information can be intercepted, read, or modified by unauthorized third parties. Unlike HTTPS, it lacks encryption and server authentication, leaving sensitive data like passwords and credit card details vulnerable to eavesdropping and man-in-the-middle attacks.

- No Encryption (Plain Text): Data sent via HTTP is not scrambled, so hackers on the same network can read sensitive information.

- No Server Authentication: HTTP does not verify that the server you are connecting to is legitimate, increasing the risk of connecting to a spoofed, malicious site.

- No Data Integrity: Because data is not secured, attackers can alter the content of the transmission (e.g., modifying a banking site to divert funds).

- Vulnerability to Eavesdropping: Any intermediary—such as a public Wi-Fi node—can intercept and read all communication sent over HTTP.

What is the impact?

Websites using HTTP are flagged as "not secure" by browsers like Chrome, resulting in loss of user trust, potential data breaches, and severe privacy risks.

I'm the last thing anybody using this site needs to worry about, whether you have a VPN or not.

All I did was use an external web service that collects any user's IP address who clicks on a link, and I added that on a link that sent everyone to a Rick Roll video on YouTube.

The only reason I was able to match up who was who was because I vaguely knew where most people lived because they've said where they lived. The VPN protected you in that instance because I didn't collect your IP, but even if I had, I likely wouldn't have known which one was yours anyhow because as far as I know you've never told anybody where you live, and there were enough other people here that I couldn't pinpoint without knowing the general area where they lived.

I hate to break it to you, but if there were any real hackers coming here to get your data, your VPN isn't going to help you out at all. The only thing your VPN is really any good for is watching Netflix shows that aren't available in the US but are available in other countries. The "security" claims are vastly overblown.

Haven't you noticed sometimes when you come here that you could have two tabs open, and one of them allows you to post while the other one claims that you aren't logged in at the same time? I'm pretty sure that's because this website has already been spoofed by somebody and they're trying to collect info from you.

I don't even know if I could have actually caused any trouble for anyone by simply having their IP address. Even Wishy. Somebody more skilled than I am may have been able to do something with that, but I couldn't. The most I was able to do with it was show somebody the last oct
