I'm not saying we didn't land on the moon. I have no dog in that race. I'm 50/50 that it actually happened.
Just find it conveniently strange that the high quality master tapes of one of the most important events in human history (if true) were all taped over with other programming after the broadcast went out is all. So all any of us have ever been able to look at is the grainiest, lowest-quality bullshit videos that could easily be recreated by anybody with a $1,000 computer from the basement of their mom's house today.
I get your desire to believe it. But you have to know that was a pretty huge fuck-up to destroy the master recordings of that event, unless you were doing that on purpose.
But not everything is a conspiracy, and our government is just plain fucking dumb a lot of the time, so I wouldn't put that past them either.
You'll never hear me outright deny the lunar landing. If you feel that you have before, assuming you've seen me speak on it at some point in time, I was being a troll about that.
I just plain don't know.
And at the end of the day, I have zero ROI for making a decision on that issue either way, so I simply won't. I have nothing at all to gain by believing in the story of the Lunar Lander either way.
It's a thing that happened or didn't happen before I was born, and either way it has had a ZERO impact on my life, or the lives of anyone I have ever known.
The Lunar Landing event is, at it's heart, the poster child for the definition of the "Nothing Burger".
If it's true, it didn't have to be that way if anybody at all bothered doing anything to build on it, but that's not the reality we live in. Around 6 decades of nothing on that front, until (supposedly) now, in a race against Billionaires that don't seem to have their hearts really in it and are much more likely to be warring to be the first to generate AI that can simulate a Lunar Landing 2 so realistic that even the biggest skeptic would swear that we finally did land on the moon.
And frankly, let's be honest here...
Wouldn't being able to pull off that miracle be a lot more valuable to the Billionare/Trillionaire classes?
What would they care about landing on the moon for when learning how to fool the entire population of the world through fake videos and a staged event with a production budget that dwarfs Hollywood's stupidest budget (and no need for anyone to be forced to say how much was spent on this if it were all personally funded).
First, 100% belief in an entirely fabricated 2nd lunar landing (en masse hypnosis).
Next, making everyone believe goddamned near whatever they want us to believe.
I know which one I'd be working on if I had the resources.
SPOILER ALERT: The moon ain't going anywhere.
