The few remaining moderate House Republicans appear poised to break with President Donald Trump in a key vote on his signature economic policy.
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-La.) is using several procedural maneuvers to shield Trump from legislative challenges and oversight, planning to ask the House to extend the ban on bringing up resolutions challenging Trump’s tariffs on products from dozens of U.S. trading partners through August.
However, according to Punchbowl News, key Republicans indicated they would likely vote against the measure.
