Is this what you mean?

Viable or not, Musk’s alternative disrupts the two-party system

Are you going to be a Muskie again now?

Because whatever he puts together is likely to be the closest thing to a 3rd party you're going to get.

We'll see how your race in NYC goes. Can your "Independents" get Democrat Cuomo or Democrat Adams across the finish line? Or will you just take enough votes away from the full-blown Communist running for the Democrats that the Republican wins NYC Mayor?

Haven't had much time to listen to those who know and think it through myself. That said, if Elon does get involved, I hope his presence effects Republicans negatively more than democrats. Independents are going to hit republicans hard.

It seems like when you get your ass handed to you in one thread, you bail to another.

No, 80% of Americans do NOT think immigration is good for the country.

Support for immigration soars in new poll, as public sours on Trump policies
Published: Jul. 11, 2025, 1:47 p.m.

As the Trump administration continues its crackdown on immigration, a new poll released on Friday found a majority of adults in the United States believe immigration is beneficial for the country and are souring on Trump’s handling of the issue.

The poll from Gallup finds that 79% of U.S. adults believe immigration is a good thing, while just 17% say it’s a bad thing. The percentage of adults who say immigration is a good thing is the highest it’s ever been since Gallup began asking this question in 2001, according to the survey. Similarly, the percentage of adults who say immigration is a bad thing is the lowest it has ever been.

Among Democrats, only 2% approve of Trump’s handling of immigration, while 97% expressed disapproval.

Among Independents, 28% expressed approval over Trump’s handling of immigration, while 69% expressed disapproval.

Republicans, however, largely approve of Trump’s handling of the issue, with 85% expressing approval and 13% expressing disapproval.
There was also an increase among American adults who want to see more immigration. In 2025, 26% of U.S. adults said they would support more immigration, a 10% increase from 2024, when 16% expressed support for the idea, according to Gallup.

Among adults who identify as Democrats, 91% say immigration is a good thing, up from 86% last year.

Among adults who identify as Independents, 80% say immigration is good, an increase from 66% who said the same thing in 2024.

The largest increase of those who say immigration is a good thing was among U.S. adults who identified as Republicans, with 39% agreeing with the statement in 2024 and 64% saying immigration is good in 2025, according to Gallup.

First, the date on your article is January. Mine is from less than a week ago. People don't like seeing mothers dragged away from their children. The father of three marines beaten by ICE. Trump blew it. There are other polls out there that show if they didn't commit crimes while here, they should be left alone. A lot of republicans own business and reality is setting in.

As for me bailing, it's your ship that's sinking. See what I did there?

that's too funny...

Wow, Trump is bashing MAGA. He's calling them evil and stupid. He's telling them to get lost; he doesn't want them in the party anymore. No shit, the guys gone over the cliff.

Gilligan, comrade signym, you are out, politically homeless. Holy shit Gilligan. Does this mean the MAGA party is dead? Long live the Democrats and Independents I say while standing holding my hat over my heart.

too funny

Haha.

This is just wordplay meant to fool stupid people like Ted and the rest of MSNBC/CNN viewership.

I won't even begin to try explaining to Ted how he's being fooled on this one. He's 30 IQ points short of even being able to grasp the basics here.

"How do you feel about immigration?" isn't the same question as "How do you feel about illegal aliens?"

I think builders, ranchers, farmers, meatpackers, homeowners, and working women moms are missing their (cheap) construction workers, stoop labor, meatcutters, gardeners, and nannies.
