Well you've done nothing but bitch and whine about Trump for the last 4 years when he wasn't President.

I'm looking forward to seeing you implode these next 4 years.

Trump makes Trumptards' dangling parts tingle. Trumptards hate to be called Nazis and Racists because they understand those words mean they are being viewed as contemptible and Trumptards are certain that is unfair. When Trump is attacked, Trumptards have the same reaction: it is unfair. Trumptards will never understand the contempt for them is justified, no more than the slave owning Confederates and Jew killing Nazis could understand why they were attacked despite their marvelous achievements and wonderful personalities.

Scott Aaronson writes on January 20, 2025:

My view of Trump is the same as it’s been for a decade — that he’s a con man, a criminal, and the most dangerous internal threat the US has ever faced in its history. I think Congress and Merrick Garland deserve eternal shame for not moving aggressively to bar Trump from office and then prosecute him for insurrection — that this was a catastrophic failure of our system, one for which we’ll now suffer the consequences. If this time Trump got 52% of some swing state rather than 48%, if the “zeitgeist” or the “vibes” have shifted, if the “Resistance” is so weary that it’s barely bothering to show up, if Bezos and Zuckerberg and Musk and even Sam Altman now find it expedient to placate the tyrant rather than standing up for what previously appeared to be their principles — well, I don’t see how any of that affects how I ought to feel.

The third plotline was the end of TikTok, quickly followed by its (temporary?) return on Trump’s order. As far as I can tell, Instagram, Twitter/X, and TikTok have all been net negatives for the world; it would’ve been far better if none of them had been invented. But, OK, our society allows many things that are plausibly net-negative, like sports betting and Cheetos. In this case, however, the US Supreme Court ruled 9-0 (!!) https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/24pdf/24-656_ca7d.pdf that Congress has a legitimate interest in keeping Chinese Communist Party spyware off 170 million Americans’ phones — and that there’s no First Amendment concern that overrides this security interest, since the TikTok ban isn’t targeting speech on the basis of its content. I found the court’s argument convincing. I hope TikTok goes dark 90 days from now — or, second-best, that it gets sold to some entity that’s merely bad in the normal ways and not a hostile foreign power.

Dude... I've thought about Trump maybe twice since I voted for him.

You think about Trump more in 3 hours than I do in any given year.

Grow up, will ya?

Also, nobody cares about you going around calling everybody racists and Nazis anymore either, buddy. You played that out until those words were meaningless, which is something I've been warning you about for years.

That's all part of what this thread is about.

You are done. Your fake little personality you built here for yourself is nothing but a yapping little dog with no teeth in 2025.

You're struggling even to find news stories today that tell you anything you want to hear anymore.

So have fun making more meaningless noise for another 4 years.

All you're going to possibly do is convince other people to go even further to the Right every time you open your mouth.

Back when Nixon was running his mouth about Vietnam, he couldn't say more than a thousand words before he misconstrued the situation. I was expert on that war, so I knew what Nixon didn't want to understand. Trump can't go more than a sentence before he does the same thing as Nixon did, misunderstand an excruciatingly simple concept. Well, simple for me because I am expert in the energy business, but not for you or Trump.

From Trump’s speech:
Quote:

The inflation crisis was caused by massive overspending and escalating energy prices. That is why today I will also declare a national energy emergency. We will drill, baby, drill.

America will be a manufacturing nation once again, and we have something that no other manufacturing nation will ever have: the largest amount of oil and gas of any country on Earth, and we are going to use it. We’re going to use it.

We will bring prices down, fill our strategic reserves up again, right to the top, and export American energy all over the world.

We will be a rich nation again, and it is that liquid gold under our feet that will help to do it.

This is absurd stuff. U.S. energy production is thriving; in recent years we’ve become a net energy exporter, something that last happened when Dwight Eisenhower was president:

There’s much more I could say about Trump’s energy delusions. And I will, eventually; despite everything, economic life does go on.

You think little guys like yourself are in charge. Wrong, but Trump is not gonna explain it to you. These big guys are in charge:

In Trump’s America, the Oligarchy Is Done Pretending to Care About You

The world’s richest people are done feigning concern. Trump can do whatever he wants, and they can, too

Donald Trump was inaugurated for his second term on Monday before the world’s richest people. Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg were seated closest to Trump. They smiled. They laughed. They thumbs-upped. They loved it.

Trump is going to make a spectacle out of punishing immigrants and fleece the poor while he and his family cash in on the presidency like America has never seen. Days before his inauguration, Trump launched a meme coin and became a crypto billionaire overnight, prompting his wife, Melania, to announce her own meme coin, too.

America’s oligarchs get it. They are done pretending to care. Trump can do what he wants, and they can, too.

Donald Trump Is at War with America
He sees himself as a wartime president.

By Jonathan V. Last | Jan 21, 2025

https://www.thebulwark.com/p/donald-trump-is-at-war-with-america

"I don’t think there’s any way to read yesterday except as President Trump decided that with the Republican party fully subservient to him, he can subjugate the other remaining power centers in American life. He can finally be a wartime president. It’s just that he’s going to war against America."

Trump's war with America is unprecedented, "Or at least: We haven’t had a president view Americans this way since Reconstruction."

Trump made it clear during the inauguration that he's "governing not for all Americans — and not even just for the benefit of 'his' voters — but as an attack on the half of America that opposed him."

Trump "believes that Democratic voters should not be bargained with or bribed, but intimidated, punished, subdued — and rendered unable to oppose him in his quest for total power."

Trump is going to use all the power at his presidential fingertips to ensure everyone falls in line. This includes using the courts, government bureaucracy, and mob rule to get what he wants. Trump released the J6 rioters, even the violent ones, for a purpose: "The message is unambiguous: Trump wants supporters who engage in street violence on the loose. He wants a paramilitary arm for which he has plausible deniability."

"Freeing those convicted of violence is a go-ahead signal for future violent acts and an implicit promise that Trump will take care of those who fight on his behalf."

The target of Trump's power campaign is anyone who lives in a blue state. "Trump understands that blue states are the last bastions of meaningful popular opposition to his rule, so he will use the federal government to subdue them. That’s what deportations — and tariffs — are for. These are executive powers which can be used in highly-targeted ways to hurt on local economies."

"If you live in a blue state, President Trump is going to use the power of the federal government to make your life harder." If you think that sounds paranoid, here’s Speaker Mike Johnson explaining that he intends to use federal disaster aid to extract concessions from the state of California.

Things just kind of feel normal again.

This feel "normal" to you? Trump pardons would-be murderer as reward to Libertarian Movement for campaign support

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump wrote

I just called the mother of Ross William Ulbricht to let her know that in honor of her and the Libertarian Movement, which supported me so strongly, it was my pleasure to have just signed a full and unconditional pardon of her son, Ross. The scum that worked to convict him were some of the same lunatics who were involved in the modern day weaponization of government against me. He was given two life sentences, plus 40 years. Ridiculous!

Ulbricht is the founder of Silk Road, an online platform for large-scale transactions by drug traffickers and other criminals with a need for secrecy. Now, maybe you think that's OK because drugs shouldn't be illegal in the first place. Mileage will vary. But Ulbricht was also accused of contracting to have people killed — though he was duped and the murders never took place. He was NOT tried on contract killing charges. After Ulbricht received two life sentences on the drug charges, it didn't seem worth charging him for the failed killings. Still, as an appellate court noted, he certainly tried to kill: https://pdfserver.amlaw.com/nlj/ULBRICHT-ca2-20170531.pdf
Quote:

DPR [Ulbricht's handle, "Dread Pirate Roberts"] connected with Redandwhite, who was FriendlyChemist’s supplier, and wrote that “FriendlyChemist is a liability and I wouldn’t mind if he was executed.” After negotiating the logistical details of the murder, Ulbricht agreed to pay Redandwhite $150,000 in Bitcoins to kill FriendlyChemist. DPR paid Redandwhite, who later confirmed that he had received the payment and carried out the murder, and sent what appeared to be a photo of the dead victim to DPR. DPR replied that he had “received the picture and deleted it,” and thanked Redandwhite for his “swift action.”

....Later, DPR ordered four other murders through Redandwhite.... One of the government’s expert witnesses was able to link the payments for all five murders to Bitcoin wallets located on Ulbricht’s laptop.

....At the sentencing hearing, the district court resolved several disputed issues of fact. For example, because Ulbricht contested his responsibility for the five commissioned murders for hire, the district court found by a preponderance of the evidence that Ulbricht did in fact commission the murders, believing that they would be carried out. The district court characterized the evidence of the murders for hire, which included Ulbricht’s journal, chats with other Silk Road users, and the evidence showing that Ulbricht actually paid a total of $650,000 in Bitcoins for the killings, as “ample and unambiguous.”

Bygones. Ulbricht is free now, solely because libertarians supported Trump and this is the payoff they asked for. That's how our president operates, ladies and gentlemen.
