The reason why I know it's fake us bc I worked with an actual Syrian. As a Syrian Christian, he was extremely fearful of life without Assad.
The ones looking forward to going back to Syria are the Sunnni nutjob terrorists who were driven out by the Syrian Army into Turkye and Lebanon 2015, where they have been living as impoverished religious nutjob refugees.
Now they can look forward to practicing their repressive religion on everyone else in Syria.

Who's the biggest loser? Russia Russia Russia. Putin jumped into helping Assad to gain influence in that part of the world. And, to stop a pipeline running through Syria undercutting its oil dominance of Europe. Russia's sphere of influence in the Middle East is over, puff, gone. They too are collapsing. The world is changing causing a dramatic power shift. Authoritarian regimes are dropping like flies, i.e. Türkiye and China aren't fairing much better.
Brics, Putins' small sphere of influence is now short on appeal. Those countries are going to quickly rethink their choice to align with Putins' Russia. They can see it is soon to be a failed state.
That's not to say those who control much of Syria are the good guys. The Kurds and most of the Syria people are, but not so much anyone else. We need to hope for the best, while helping to shape things when it is in our interest to do so.
Poor comrade signym. Her world is falling apart as well. All her posts were shown to be bullshit in this and other threads. Years of telling us here how Russia controls the Black Sea and is such a fighting force. For her too, that is over. The satisfaction that it brings, the vindication, makes it well worth the wait.

For 50 years in Syria, the “democratically” elected Assad family have ruled.
There is another long running “democracy”, The “Democratic” People's Republic of Korea, also known as North Korea, which been ruled by the Kim family since 1948. It would be such a tragedy for the people of North Korea if the Kims fall from power in their “democracy”, as has happened to Syria. The evil South Koreans might take control. What a horror show. Just kidding.
It is peculiar how Syria and North Korea were propped up by Russia, another long running “democracy” where one man has controlled the government during the entire 21st century.

So I observe that western media is 'all in' on al Qaeda taking over Syria.
Aside from hiding its true identity by calling them "rebels", "the opposition", or "Syrian democratic army" instead of "HTS, a rebranded al Qaeda terrorist organization"...
When they DO address HTS' true identity they'll claim that this organization has "reformed", and they'll hide its true actions in Syria by refusing to report.
Like they're refusing to report the widespread LOOTING going on now.

Alexander Mercouris had an interesting video of what happened in Syria.
He described how the commanders of the Syrian Army would make stirring statements about how they were going to set up defensive lines and fight to death, only to melt away and do the same thing again elsewhere.
Apparently, what they were doing was simply trying to raise the bribe that they were willing to accept from al Qaeda, because that's what was happening: al Qaeda would show up with a truck full of money and the Syrian commanders would take the bribe and disband their units.
Also, he describes Assad's series of economic and political missteps, complacency bordering on treason. This explains why the Russians and Chinese were only distantly supportive. It seems they didn't want to commit to a government that itself wasn't committed to the nation.
