I think the problem is, in Ted's case, that the college "education" did stick.
He shouldn't have been allowed into college without learning how to read and write or proving he had a grasp on basic math in the first place.
But it is the soft minds that are easily tenderized and reeducated that the Universities are looking to fleece of their wealth in exchange for poisoning their brains, so there you go.
I'd say about 10 to 20% of people who graduate college actually learn anything that is a marketable job skill, and most of that is learned only if you pony up more cash after the 4-year brainwashing program they call a Bachelor's degree. If you aren't an engineer or a doctor or a lawyer, you didn't learn anything meaningful in 16 years of American education.
Nothing but lots of wasted time and even more wasted money.

What does THUGR do for a living that involves judging people? I think we can rule out lawyer, judge, psychologist, psychiatrist, doctor, social worker, teacher, or even police.
Not even sure he would qualify for prison guard.

It's funny that you ask. I thought the same thing to myself when I first read that, but I didn't even bother asking because who cares?
At least I think I might believe Ted if he said what he used to do for a living, unlike anything Second ever says about himself. So I do have to give Ted that much.
