It's only insane for people in California, Virginia, New Jersey and especially New York.
I'm totally on the fence about where all of today's races will end up. National Polling is always terribly lopsided in favor of Democrats, and I could only imagine that on a statewide level it's even worse. (Think back to the Iowa Poll that had Harris up 13 points the week before the election).
Could wake up tomorrow and find out Democrats lost all the races...
I doubt it though.
I'll just say congrats to Democrats on their wins tonight, and wish them all the luck in the world going forward.
Especially in New York.

I'd like to add that Schadenfreude doesn't play a role in my desire for Mamdani to win tonight. The people of New York City have no idea what they're voting for, and they're walking blindly into a trap that even the Mainstream NeoLibs can't seem to stop in 2025.
I'm not going to enjoy watching all the suffering that this will bring on, but it will be an excellent lesson for everyone in the country to learn without having to make the same mistake themselves.
This is one example of a problem that didn't even need to be a problem. Had Trump accomplished more of what he set out to do by now, and had Republicans not fucked up healthcare so bad, so early, the Republican in the race should be winning this election tonight.
And meanwhile, the Establishment Democrats in NY allowed themselves to be pushed out of the way by some young Muslim Socialist who is running under their banner, and their guy had to switch to Independent to run. Then add on top of it that their guy is the one who was responsible for tons of senior citizen Covid deaths, and left his last gig in disgrace.
Tell me you want to lose an election without telling me you want to lose an election...
So...
Is that going to be our Two Choices going forward?
