That certainly is A problem. It's not even close to the only problem.

They stripped away any personality from the characters, because that's what IDPol does. It's a movie about nothing.

Just another mindless, pointless Mary Sue Girl Power romp that shits all over male characters like Star Wars' Rey, Captain Marvel, the entire female cast of Quantumania, or Enter any Disney movie made in the last 10 years here: ___________.

Yeah. Sure. Some pre-teen rich girl that is great at sword fighting against her two younger brothers with wooden toy swords is going to take on a bunch of grown ass adult men and save everyone because female parts.

But then, in the REAL WORLD, you're the bad guy if you don't want to let dudes beat up on women in female sports.

Democrats are cancer.

Don't really care about that either. I have no intentions of watching "The Little Mermaid".

These types of movies really mean nothing to me as I was never force feed fairy tales as a child.

Peter Pan to me is a public domain character, it is like Hercules or Robin Hood, stories of Japanese Samurai or the Chinese Monkey King or Greek or Egypt and Native American Legends or Sherlock Holmes, these story are part of human history and nobody owns them.
Peter Pan might have even lacked originality back in its day, the playfulness and musical pipes a representation of Greece paganism stories or maybe the Greek god Pan
A studio might attempt to argue different that they own the rights to this amazing work and you should pay them money but the original creator is long since gone.

I would ague that some do have 'charm' and can sell, for example Shirley Temple was one where people went wow that kid can sing and dance, Michael Jackson was also a child performer, Macaulay Culkin was able to pull off 'cool'...but there is something weird about it these days, rumors some of them exploited or even abused, some turned out ok-ish Mickey Rooney, Christian Bale, Elijah Wood, Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson, Elle Fanning, Alfonso Ribeiro, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ron Howard are others who did the child actor thing.

but for every success story there are hundreds of trainwrecks and Hollyweird can mess up a lot of them, destroy their lives.

then you had other people who 'Look Young' but played even younger kids, Gary Coleman, Haley Joel Osment still has a young face, Ralph Macchio...or ones who returned to movies later in life like Drew Barrymore

its on Pirate sites but probably will be taken down

but Why is the overall story of this film not copyright free?

Usually around the world they say 70 years for a song or comic or book...so let's ask why is every story before 1953 Not Open and part of our World's Common Heritage and Why is it NOT in the Public Domain?
How powerful are these companies with Cartoon Ducks or Bunny or 'The Mouse' and should all these old animated icons not also belong to everyone in America and what do they gain politically by doing this stuff?

In Hollywood there is a new wave of weirdness, inside every tinseltown made film these days there is a special
'The Message'
I don't know when it really started but I began to notice it during the Trump Years, a forced political statement and things appear in news about Tv shows or Video Games 2017 - 2018 American superhero film ...everyone was pushing a left message or some derangement syndrome.
I got to see from comic fans that Captain Marvel was a comicbook character until DC comics sued and shut it down, then you had Captain Marvel or Mar-Vell ... but for some reason the Marvel everyone knowns onscreen is a Blonde Feminist, a Black Woman and then a Pakistan muslim culture 'Marvel'?
While crimes and Weinstein weridness was getting exposed 'the Message' got pushed even more.

Every era and decade and generation is different there were periods we had a ColdWar between the USA and Soviet Russia, when the USSR was still around and movies got 'Patriotic Americana' Top Gun, Rocky, Rambo, Red Dawn, the Chuck Norris Films

Some decades you had the Boomer Post-Vietnam War message, you had revisionist Westerns and movies that commented on the Counter-Culture era and pointless War in Vietnam.

You also had eras of McCarthyism, fear of infiltration and you had more simple Movies where Japan and Germany one bunch of guys were good the other were evil, Cowboys and Indians

and before this er

I don't think Second was saying that ALL child actors have zero charisma. He was talking specifically about the ones in this flick.

I didn't notice it (in entertainment) before the MTV's 2017 New Years Resolutions for White Guys came out. That was also the first time I heard the word "woke"... when they told "white guys" to stop using the word woke. I'm pretty sure nobody used the word woke until that commercial dropped.

Someone told me there is an agenda a studio will get more support if it displays these 'Social Justice Virtue Signal Multi Culture Points' before a movie is even filmed

Yeah. This is in many ways similar to tax incentives from the Federal Government offered to businesses to hire non-whites and non-males, which is something that has been going on a lot longer than 2017. It's all about destroying meritocracy, and is one of the biggest reasons that companies don't work today and good customer service has disappeared.

Did you ever read about how if you want your film considered for the award shows you have quotas to meet now? Maybe that was what they were telling you about.

At least one actor from an underrepresented racial or ethnic group must be cast in a significant role.

The story must center on women, L.G.T.B.Q. people, a racial or ethnic group or the disabled.

At least 30 percent of the cast must be actors from at least two of those four underrepresented categories.

Standard B is focused on hiring behind the scenes and asks productions to meet at least one of the following criteria:

Two or more department heads — meaning jobs like director, cinematographer or composer — must be female, L.G.T.B.Q., disabled or part of an underrepresented racial or ethnic group.

At least six other crew members must be from an underrepresented racial or ethnic group.

At least 30 percent of the film’s crew must hail from the four underrepresented groups continually lai

The big difference between 1953 and 2023 Peter Pan is what happens when Captain Hook tries to kill Wendy by drowning her. A Wendy in 2023 is facing guys like 6ix:

In 1953, Peter saves Wendy from death because he is gentleman. Seventy years later, in 2023 6ixStringJack is not a gentleman and Wendy must save herself because Captain Hook has killed Peter, she thinks. Then Wendy capsizes the Pirate ship to drown all the pirates. That seems fair since the Pirates expected to be entertained by Wendy drowning. The 2023 Wendy shows her enemies only death and no mercy, be they Trumptards or Pirates.

In 1953 the pirates got away alive. In 2023 the pirates got what they deserved, except Captain Hook and First Mate Smee. Neither drowned but you didn’t learn that until the credits roll. It’s Peter Pan who wanted Hook and Smee to live. Peter tried to save Hook from Wendy’s Wrath. Wendy wanted all pirates dead, Dead, DEAD for what the pirates tried and failed to do. Wendy wasn’t accepting apologies or handing out second chances. The Trumptards I know are always expecting forgiveness when their plans fail but they should not get pardoned when they don’t succeed.

Captain Hook is a nice guy in Peter Pan (1953) compared to the evil Captain Hook from Peter Pan & Wendy (2023):

Captain Hook: My time for joy is lost. Everything I could have been has been reduced to this.
(Captain Hook touches his hook)
This is what growing up looks like.

Wendy: No. This is what it looks like when you grow up wrong.

Captain Hook: You find me a child who truly knows the difference between right and wrong and I’ll show you a man who can’t remember why it mattered in the first place.
(pause, turns to his crew)
Execute every last one of them.
(the crew takes the children to the pirate ship deck)

Captain Hook: Farewell then. Wendy Moira Angela Darling.

An excellent montage follows before Wendy is to be drowned by Captain Hook. She whispers the magic words to defy gravity, “Think happy thoughts.” For a few seconds all of Wendy’s past and her plans for the future flash onto the screen, stretching from being a teenager to an old woman. Wendy clearly has long-term goals, but first, she must end Captain Hook.

This has nothing to do with me, buddy.

70lb rich girl doesn't go on a boat full of grown ass men with swords who are trying to kill her and live to tell the tale 100 times out of 100.

That only happens in current year Disney flicks when she's suited up with Girl-Parts Plot Armor and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon magic moves.

In fact, one could argue that this is sending a very dangerous message to young girls who are going to grow up believing they possess powers that they don't actually have and that they're a lot safer on the subway than they actually are when a couple of homeless guys who are looking to get their rocks off the wrong way go after her.

No. 2023 Wendy is not a bad-ass Boss Girl. She's Varuca Salt.... Just an entitled little rich brat without an ounce of charisma who would be destroyed in real life if she tried pulling any of that shit, and will certainly end up being a spinster cat lady in adulthood if she somehow managed to live that long.

And that's not the fault of the actress playing her either. It's the fault of the ShitLib writers, directors and producers working at Disney right now.

This is very simple: 2023 Wendy magically raised the Pirate ship out of the water, high up into the air, and then she turned it upside down so that the Pirates would drown when they fell into the sea. That is perfectly fair since the Pirates had intended to drown Wendy by wrapping her in chains and making her "walk the plank", assuming you know what the expression means.

Just before the credits roll, the movie revealed Captain Hook and First Mate Smee had not died as Wendy intended but popped up like corks out of the water. Lucky pair of Pirates not killed by the magical Wrath of Wendy. Real-life Wendy would need a shotgun and ammo to kill the Pirates for real by shooting them in the face and neck. I guess Disney didn't want to go there because that is an R-rated movie.

Lame.

Wendy was an important character in the original story. A caring woman and nurturer who helped the Lost Boys finally grow up.

The three female characters in Girl Power Land are boring and uninspired. You might as well have just put Rey, Captain Marvel and a plank of wood in their place and the movie would have been the same.

Disney is incapable of creating anything interesting when they hire a bunch of women and minorities who have no skills just to fill quotas.

Just saw a preview for The Little Mermaid in the theater the other day. The audience reaction was priceless. Just groaning when we weren't all laughing at parts that I'm sure weren't intended to be funny.

Nobody wants to see your agenda trash for "modern audiences", and now the average person who doesn't even pay attention to politics is onto Disney's game.
