Order In Pending Case
Trump, Donald J. v. New York, et al.
The application for stay presented to Justice Sotomayor and by her referred to the Court is denied for, inter alia, the following reasons.
First, the alleged evidentiary violations at President-Elect Trump’s state-court trial can be addressed in the ordinary course on appeal.
Second, the burden that sentencing will impose on the President-Elect’s responsibilities is relatively insubstantial in light of the trial court’s stated intent to impose a sentence of “unconditional discharge” after a brief virtual hearing.
Justice Thomas, Justice Alito, Justice Gorsuch, and Justice Kavanaugh would grant the application.

No. That is not at all what happened here.
It hasn't been appealed yet, dummy. And nobody has made any unconstitutional decision saying that it can't be appealed.
Trump was looking for them to just throw the whole thing out. The Supreme Court then pulled a 4D chess move and sided against Trump right before inauguration, silencing Leftist Media from saying the entire game is rigged. Trump himself may have known that this would be shot down by the Supreme Court and he is the one playing 4D chess too.
The Justices said "No. You can take time out of your day tomorrow and do a zoom call. There will be no jail time. You really don't have to keep fighting this at all if you don't want to, especially since the media will continue to make a villain out of you no matter what you chose to do, but we know that you will appeal immediately after we hand out this decision."
NOW Trump appeals.
And if we've finally run out of Ultra-Left-Wing lower courts based in places like Manhattan Island and we can move this case up the federal chain to the Supreme Court, that is where it ultimately will be thrown out, if it hasn't been thrown out in a lower appeals court already.
And at that point, it will not be difficult to get the conviction expunged, so please do enjoy being able to call Trump a convicted felon while you are still able to. It is only temporary.
Do you really not understand the law on a remedial level, or are you just so brainwashed that you parrot anything you hear even when you know that it's not true?
Are you still getting your legal advice from the "Experts" that convinced you the 14th Amendment was going to save you from Trump?

Trump was convicted for writing 12 checks, $35,000 each for a total of $420,000 to Michael Cohen. If Trump had not written those 12 checks, he wouldn’t have been convicted by a jury.

Trump could have delegated the signing of the 12 checks to Junior, but then Junior would have been a convicted felon. Trump should have kept his promise to let Junior run the business while Daddy was President. I guess Trump wasn’t busy while President, so that is why he could keep running things (and writing bad checks) at Trump Org despite his solemn promise not to.
I sympathize with Trump’s contention that deceiving voters with paperwork craftiness and accountant tricks is not a crime. What next? Making it a crime to lie? Perjury should not be punished! Those unfair perjury rules are why Trump didn't testify in his criminal case. So sad Trump wasn't allowed by his defense team to persuade the jury of his innocence.

Anyways here is how I see it the Rift between the Left and Right has grown so extreme that Maga would be happy to back up Felons if they thought it would do good for their country, improve their nation...we are not 'Declaration of Independence' times but a lot of Trump fans the Maga Trumpists see the government as corrupt and occupied and maybe the response not too unlike George III who seen the new USA as rebel criminals. Back in the days of the expanding British Empire the Founding Fathers would be treated as felons. However it is not the same thing, no Empire has invaded and is occupying the USA but back in those days signing the Declaration of Independence was a crime — ergo, treason. Some founding fathers were jailed, President Aaron Burr — indicted on a murder charge but later dropped for shooting and killing Hamilton the 7th President was a hot head madman known for The Andrew Jackson Duels, if you called each other a ‘liar,’ a ‘puppy,’ also ‘fornicator’ you would have it out the next day walk ten paces and shoot at each other, no Lawsuits needed and in Europe they might still use swords or fence and it was considered Gentleman like. The British Empire would have seen the new USA as troublesome militia men, rebels, people engaged in guerilla warfare to overthrow the King and Queen the English legal system could not convict the Founding Fathers as felons because the American revolution was successful. There is no doubt Donald Trump even for the good he has done it might be outweighed by news media negatives going down as 'Most Controversial' Presidents in US history like Nixon, Johnson, Clinton, Bush junior, he might even go back trade wars Herbert Hoover, times of Andrew Johnson, Ulysses S. Grant scandals, Jackson who the new legal elites hated and a party in the White House to which anyone was invited and people trashed the place, Cleveland aka Uncle Jumbo or Andrew Jackson era and to the feelings of the time of John Adams and deportation of immigrants considered threatening.
Also unlike way back in those days the USA is much bigger, trade is bigger and debt is bigger. The USA faces different challenges to the times of the Founding Fathers the USA is in a different position trying to maintain a world Empire with bases in Japan, in the Middle East in Europe, with alliances and allies trying to maintain its position in the world as other powers want to rise.
I still don't know how to view Trump, maybe like Nixon people will look back and see him not as terrible as the media wrote or maybe over time Trump will continue to do worse.

This is not the outcome Trump wanted. When Trump was convicted, seven and a half months ago, on a spring day as balmy and verdant as Friday was frigid, after the jury foreman, a salt-and-pepper-haired immigrant from Ireland, said guilty 34 times, Trump rose and turned, looking stricken, his face uncharacteristically crumpled, reaching out to grasp the hand of his son Eric. I watched this, sitting two rows behind Trump, as he turned and walked out to face the cameras and assail the process that had brought him there.
Trump fought all the way to the Supreme Court to try to stop the sentencing from happening. It wasn’t until Thursday evening that we knew, for sure, that sentencing would take place.
“I’m totally innocent. I did nothing wrong,” the unrepentant president-elect told the court Friday via video link from Mar-a-Lago, sitting in front of an array of American flags next to his attorney Todd Blanche, who is set to become the second-highest-ranking person in Trump’s Justice Department. “This case should not have been brought,” Blanche told the court. Trump will appeal.
With Merchan’s action Friday, Trump’s criminal case has concluded, and he will enter office — 10 days from his sentencing — a convicted felon.

He's not really a felon. You know this. Show me the man and I'll show you the crime. This is no different than when Democrats went after Eric Adams for Turkish investors to his election campaign after he was telling Joe Biden* they couldn't take any more illegals.
Democrats fucking knew where that Turkish money came from and that Eric had used it. They fucking gave it to him and told him how to use it. They've been funneling international campaign contributions through outfits like Act Blue for decades. And I'm SURE that Republicans have done that too, otherwise they would have put an end to it by now.
But they needed to shut Eric the fuck up about the illegal immigration problem with the election less than a year away so they took something that he probably wasn't even smart enough to realize happened behind-the-scenes in his election campaign that happens every day in almost every election campaign on any level above Alderman in any blue state, and spit-roast him over the fire with it.
We didn't "vote for a felon". We simply don't recognize the authority of those who deemed him one. And we also know that once these things are appealed he will no longer be able to be called one anymore, even on a technicality.
So what actually happened here, Jaynez, is that Democrats devalued the meaning of the word "Felon", just like they already did to "Nazi" and "Racist".
We don't take anything any of them say seriously anymore. They are not serious people. And it's becoming clear that none of them are going to make any moves to try and convince anybody that they should be taken seriously going further.
So be it.
