Do you have a phone with a decent camera? If you do, put it in selfie mode and try looking at your feet that way. Or use an old-school hand mirror!
AFAIK all of the problems with diabetes (infection, neuropathy, retinal and kidney damage etc) are a direct result of high blood sugar. I'll bet you don't have that, so you'll be OK.
FWIW an A1C of 6.5-7 is optimum PROVIDED you don't experience hypoglycemia.
AFA smoke is concerned, your room AC continually extracts smoke out of room air. Since it takes a while for smoke to diffuse into your room, provided you don't open your room windows at night your room won't be smoke-free but it'll be reduced significantly. The more windows that are closed on the same floor the better off you'll be.

Got back after 5pm. Meet my friend at noon, had lunch then spent at least 3 hours talking about all kinds of things. Then we wandered around the mall some.

Today was a little messed up. Dear daughter and I seem to be working at cross- purposes. I separate something into categories, she puts them into different categories. I expect to be ferreting out her recycling hidey-holes, she decides she wants to go thru the mail. I put something in the giveaway area, she retrieves it. The only thing we managed to accomplish together was taking a bunch of recycling in for cash. Plus I did a teeny tiny little bit of yardwork.
Sigh!
Tomorrow is a reset, I hope!

Nice ideas. I'd have to have some sort of stand for either of them though. I was basically holding my foot and bending it upward at the ankle so I could see it straight on while I was clipping into it with the other hand. I'm still pretty flexible, at least for now. It's really the eyesight and lack of light that was the problem here.

Most days I do alright. I think my last visit was 7.1, but I know I've had A1C readings that were "not diabetic" even though I am. My doctor didn't like how long I was under 70 though when I was doing that and wanted me to be higher.

Everything is closed. I don't smell any smoke, so it's probably alright.
Had a question for you, and unless you know it's 100% fact, maybe you could bounce it off your husband too. It's regarding those bi-fold doors.
It turns out that I have two Left-Handed doors, meaning that they're not going to work unless I do some modifications.
I really don't want to be trying to bust that hardware out of the holes in the tops and the bottoms of the doors to swap them all around because I don't know how strong that's all in there.... it could just be jammed in there with friction, or it could be glued in there and be a real problem.
But then I thought....
Couldn't I just fill in the screw holes for the hinges on the backs of the doors, put the hinges on the other side of the door and use it completely backward and not have to change any of that other hardware?
That is true, right????
ETA: Yes... I do believe it is, but I will also have to put the hinges on the opposite sides of the front of the door, meaning they have to be switched with each other too.

Nevermind on that, Sigs. I was wrong. None of that would work at all.
In order to do it, I have to rotate the entire door 180 degrees. The hinges stay right where they were. I have to flip the two pivot pieces and then flip the pin with the wheel for the track to the other side.
I hear they're not too difficult to remove if you do them the right way. I'll have to cut away a little bit of paint before I do it too. Should be alright. If that goes smoothly, the only thing left to do is figure out where my new drill hole needs to go and get that trim up there.
I ran out of cabinet trim, but I realized I have at least 1 8 foot piece of stock that is pretty flat and rounded on both edges. I was going to use that for the entryway into the basement, but I ended up using the cabinet trim for that instead.

All back from work today. Weird meter just went up a notch with my boss. I just wanted a cup of coffee before I started anything this morning. She's always telling me to make sure I wash my hands before starting anything and that is like duh.
Well, today. She was horrified that I was touching "their stuff" without washing my hands. All I had gotten was a coffee cup down from a cupboard and when she saw me going for a spoon. So, I had to go and wash my hands before I could have my coffee and I had to ask her to get the sugar for me.
I am also so tired of telling her about how rhubarb grows. Tried again today to explain why I cut down the bigger stalks. The leaves get so big that they crowd out new growth which I can see trying to come in. Also again about the woodiness of the bigger stalks. But nope it doesn't take hold.
