In the movie, Jayne intended to sell River to the Alliance. The script where Wash lives, below, made that very clear about Jayne, but to stop him, River knocked Jayne unconscious in both versions of the movie. That is Jayne's redemption arc.

It was an incomplete redemption arc as the show was cut short LOOOOOOOOONG before it ever should have been.
The movie is bullshit and I outright refuse to accept it as Cannon. And now that you mention it, the ONLY thing Serenity got right was not forcing a fake 180 for Jayne since he hadn't yet completed that arc and they crammed and rushed every other goddamned Firefly topic you could imagine into 90 minutes.
In the real world, people don't magically become good guys overnight, and many of them never do.
But if you never start trying, you're never going to be a good person yourself.
It takes a lot of work. It often doesn't come easy.
I don't hold much hope that you'll ever become a good person, but everybody has the ability to turn things around.

A recent poll by Russia’s Levada Center, which is not a state-run group, found that public support for “the actions of the Russian armed forces in Ukraine” remains high at 74 percent.
But a lot of that support is for the war as it’s being portrayed on Russian television, rather than support for what’s actually going on in Ukraine.
It’s support for a limited operation, conducted surgically to avoid civilian casualties in order to prevent a neo-Nazi regime from getting nukes and committing genocide.
If that’s what you’re presented with, I’m not surprised that a lot of people will say — yes, that sounds like a perfectly appropriate war. But what happens once reality starts to confront them as more people come back from the battlefield? Maybe an incomplete redemption arc.

It looks like the DNC's next talking point (after Ukraine gets its ass handed to it) is going to be all Putin, all the time. I can see the M$M is setting it up, and SECOND faithfully following the script. With the memory of goldfish, some people will forget the last "crisis" and instantly pivot to the next "crisis", no matter how hollow they are.
By constantly shifting "crises", the globalists and their allied DNC/CIA don't have to address inflation, shortages, border (in)security, crime, debt, wholsesale Constitution-shredding, power-grabs by government etc etc.
Well, the DNC may (try to) ignore inflation, but inflation won't ignore them.
