Russia Invades Ukraine. Again

So, thinking of loud as I sometimes do here...
What to make of the sudden acceleration of Russia's military timetable?
Early on, the sudden invasion of Kharkov and the seige of Kiev was prolly meant to intimidate Kiev into negotiating. If you recall, embassies were bailing from Kiev in a panic and setting up in Lviv. And, apparently, Kiev and Moscow had some sort of negotiating breakthrough in Turkey in March, until BoJo set Z straight on Z's expected role: to fight Russia to the last Ukrainian. Then Kiev reneged on its proposals and negotiations ended.
The second phase seems to be where Moscow found its economic footing and appeared content to let the fight drag on, using mainly Donbas militia and the Wagner group to do the infantry fighting while they provided air and artillery support, intelligence and so forth, degrading Kiev's forces on a slow-moving front. There seemed to be many good reasons to continue that way: the west was (and still is) deteriorating economically and politically faster, and Kiev's casualty rate was multiples of Russia's.
So, if it's going swimmingly, why change?
Lots of possibilities, but one general possibility is that the collective west, rather than reversing policies that were leading to
1) the ultimate destruction of Kiev's forces, and
2) demilitarization of the collective west and
3) economic privation and political instability at home and
4) weakening of the petrodollar abroad and
4) greater Russian economic resilience at home and influence abroad
kept doubling down on failed policies. Perhaps the Russian leadership gave too much credit to western elite's rationality and, realizing their mistake, decided to finalize the operation before the collective west did anything irretrievable. There's a possibility that the USA has already sent long range missiles to Kiev, or would soon. This might be an attempt to preempt that.
***
So, what does this mean for the future?
Well, once the oblasts have their referenda and are formally accepted into Russia, that's the end of the SMO. Any attack on these territories will be consistent act of war.
The Donbas militias presumably folded into to Russian military will no longer be haring and hounding after militarily secondary targets.
The restrictions imposed by SMO designation will be lifted. The Russian military will no longer be confined to a supporting role.
Participation of western powers in attacking the Donbas will be considered an act of war against Russia itself. Russia will be justified in applying embargoes and counter sanctions against nations against which it is at war, and potentially striking military centers outside of Ukraine.
Of course, folding the Donbas into Russia doesn't obviate Russia's security problem with what's left of Ukraine, or with NATO either. It just moves the border problem westward. So I think to see the full power of the Russian military unleashed on western Ukraine.
Which brings me to an interesting question that I heard posed: How will we know it's The End for Kiev, assuming it comes?
Will it be a full surrender in Kiev, a la Berlin in 1945?
A military coup in Kiev?
The Z regime decamping to Poland where it sets up a(n irrelevant) "government in exile" while Russia sets up a puppet government in Kiev?
The Z regime decamping to their various villas and mansions outside of Ukraine, leaving the military or low level functionaries to set up an "interim" government?
Something else?

I know what Powell said, you dumb shit. I don't need leftist retards on fireflyfans to point that out to me. A) I read more Leftist fake news than I do anything else. B) I know far more about financials than you do.
Stop worrying about your "Trumptards". You've lost everyone else now too.

It's amazing how quickly their posts turn to Trumptrumptrump now, innit?
They know that "Slava Ukraini!" loses votes so they're trying to memory-hole it. But don't worry: they'll resurrect its ghost whenever they want to accuse "someone" of "something".

Russian Nukes Can Be Used To Defend Annexed Ukraine Regions, Kremlin Warns

Once again Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, has served the role of issuing more severe 'read between the lines' warnings and threats fresh off President Vladimir Putin's Wednesday speech announcing partial mobilization of national forces and which confirmed referendums of occupied portions of Ukraine to join the Russian Federation.
It supports my idea that Russia is attempting to cut western escalation off at the knees, and...
Since the Kremlin has assigned an "attack dog" role to Medvedev, they're attempting to rehabilitate his reputation from being a westernized soy boy into a Russian nationalist, possibly with the view of setting him up as a contender for Russian leadership role

More importantly: The people in Bucha were killed in many ways and torture was a common part of the dead. I linked to the wiki article and suggested you search on the same. Did you? Too afraid to find out the truth? (I laugh) Or just well past caring, your mind is made up?
Typical hysterical woman.

If your idea of a fun evening is staring into the deepest depths of the abyss of human evil, I have a movie recommendation for you! The Act of Killing is a documentary that features some of the butchers who slaughtered over a million people in Indonesia in the mid 1960s. Because the right wing death squads became the country’s government, these mass murderers were not brought to justice; they were rewarded. Fifty years later, the heads of death squads are elder statesmen of evil—celebrities of a sort, but celebrities everyone is clearly terrified of.
The Act of Killing asks these men to recreate their crimes as film sequences. They’re too vain and too stupid to understand that they’re really being asked to explain themselves, so they cast themselves as action heroes, but can’t always manage to maintain the facade as the self-reflection needed to make art forces them to reckon with what they’ve done.

Quote:I did an independent search for the investigative findings on Bucha, which I linked in a previous post. No mention of torture, even by vehemently anti-Russian The Guardian. That claim probably originated in Kiev. But then, Kiev lies a lot.

You see, we have no problems funding death squads in Indonesia...or Central America .. or funding ISIS in Syria... or Nazis in Ukraine... as long as they're against Russia.

Quote:The Trumptards imagine they are elevated individuals. The Trumptards I know go to church and support their football team, but the loftiest institutions they are associated with do not cancel out the common truths Trumptards try to hide about themselves. Trump lies and cheats on his taxes and Trumptards don't care because they'd do the same, if in the same position. Putin kills Ukrainians to steal their land and Russians don't care because Ukraine is Russian land, not the Ukrainians'.
