I'm surprised there's not an inflation thread yet

Yes.

Make no mistake... I'm also calling you stupid.

The top 1% wealthiest Americans set the prices, not the Federal government. Most voters think that their votes decide who is setting prices: either a D or R politician. The top 1% wealthiest Americans are happy with the voters and politicians misunderstanding who is in control because then the politicians get blamed rather than the 3 million truly powerful people who can go about gathering up America's wealth while the other 99% remain confused about what is happening and how Capitalism works on a daily basis.

Nobody is arguing that Joe Biden* is directly writing laws that raise prices on the people, you stupid fuck.

Actions have consequences though. And the entire Biden* administration is poisonous to the future and prosperity of Americans.

You're using the same, tired, disingenuous argument against inflation that you're using about CRT in schools.

SPOILER ALERT: It only works on stupid people.

Go peddle that shit on Leftist Twitter where it's sure to get some traction.

Biden and Trump and Obama and Bush and going all the way back to George Washington would want you to believe the President had control of prices. Presidents have nothing. It has always been the top 1%, who just so happen to be Trump and Bush and G. Washington. As you can see, there is some overlap between the group who were Presidents and who were in the top 1%. But Presidents don't want to make it clear that their power to set prices comes from being in the top 1%, not from being President.

The minimum net worth of the top 1% is roughly $11.1 million. A person would need to earn an average of $758,434 per year in order to join the top 1%.

6ix, you are no different than 99% of Americans. Your head is stuffed with false beliefs about Capitalism. Those beliefs will keep you struggling for the rest of your life. It is all your problem to correct your ideas. Once you do, which 99% of Americans will never get around to doing because they certainly think they know more than they really do, wealth will flow into your bank account.

I'm not struggling. At all.

Just like all of the other bullshit you've posted for years, saying something a million times doesn't make it true.

Take your shit to Leftist Twitter where the other liars and idiots will welcome your lies and idiocy with open arms.

I have never known a poor person who, when asked how are things, doesn't say things are going great. Most of the poor kind of believe things are going great, too. They aren't completely faking their optimism, but their optimism doesn't put money in their bank account.

You've never once heard me bitching about MY money bro.

I own everything I have outright, including a home and transportation.

I've paid less than $125 in interest to anybody my entire life.

My single biggest enemy was my alcoholism, and now that I'm going to be hitting 5 years sober in a little over a month, I'm thriving.

You can do a whole lot on "Poverty Level Income" when you have zero debt and a paid for roof over your head in a low property tax area of the country. Especially when you're handy with tools, you've got a genius IQ and you rarely ever need to pay to fix things that most people would have to.

Assuming Biden*'s inflation levels off at some point soon, I could go 7 years without making a dime without ever having to go into any debt, and at that point I'm going to easily have finished off rehabbing a house in a very up-and-coming neighborhood that I got for a song after the 2008 housing market crash which I could sell to downsize and move down by my disabled brother and likely never have to work a single hour to make somebody else rich again.

P.S. Not that it's for anything other than bragging rights since I don't need it, my TransUnion credit score just went up to 826 this month. A new high for me.

Yay!

It is not precisely price inflation but I’ve got a tricky example from today’s Houston Chronicle of how the top 1% richest Americans are running a scheme to divert America’s wealth into the top 1%’s bank accounts:

https://web.archive.org/web/20211122140547/https://www.houstonchronicl

Key Points

Online shoppers across Texas are paying millions in sales taxes to a handful of cities and counties — even if they don't live in those communities.
Much of that tax revenue goes right back to huge online retailers such as Dell, Kohl's and Best Buy thanks to economic incentive agreements made possible by an obscure Texas law.
More than $220 million in sales-tax rebates have been paid to retailers. The true number is probably higher because some cities are trying to withhold that information.

When Aasheel Kadiwal clicked the "place your order" button on Best Buy’s website last year and paid more than $2,000 for a video camera, iPad Pro and Apple watch, he didn't think to ask where his tax dollars were going.

If he had known the answer, Kadiwal wouldn’t have liked it.

The roughly $40 he paid in local sales taxes for his online purchase wasn’t collected by the community of Richmond outside Houston, where the college student lived at the time.

Instead, Kadiwal and other Best Buy customers in Texas paid sales taxes to San Marcos in Hays County every time they bought products from the electronics company online — even if they didn’t live in those communities.

And most of the tax dollars collected by the city and county weren’t spent on fixing streets, paying firefighters or funding other essential government services.

Under economic incentive agreements signed with Best Buy, San Marcos and Hays County gave 75 percent of the net tax revenue to the company after it opened an “e-commerce sales operation” and hired up to 112 new full-time employees.

Total payments to Best Buy since 2017: more than $40 million.

"It does bother me," Kadiwal said in a recent interview after he learned how his tax dollars were spent. "I feel like it should have gone to the town where I was living in, you know?"

Best Buy’s tax incentives were made possible by obscure Texas laws that allow cities and counties to sign such deals with few restrictions — even if it means taking tax money from Texans who have no say in the agreements.

Known as “Chapter 380” for cities and “Chapter 381” for counties, the laws were passed during the recession of the 1980s without the typical safeguards that lawmakers placed on other economic incentive programs. There’s no limit on the duration of each deal; no minimal job-creation requirements; and no reporting on how much the agreements ultimately cost taxpayers.

This is one out of millions of sophisticated schemes the top 1% richest Americans are running. There are far more vulgar scams where prices are simply raised and it is blamed on The Invisible Hand of the Market, but it's just the top 1%, not The Hand, transferring wealth to themselves.
