Gasoline station pumps require electricity. The fuel tank on your vehicle can't be refilled when the power grid is down. Now that I think of it, even the jerry cans for the portable generator fuel tank can't be refilled when the power grid is down. In Texas, where the Republicans control the power grid, there are blackouts. That's because building and maintaining a highly reliable power grid costs money and spending money on equipment not required by law reduces profitability. Much more profitable to have the grid shutdown. And shutdowns/shortages cause price spikes, which are extremely profitable for people who sell natural gas to electric power plants:

This month, the average residential rate listed on the site was 18.48 cents per kilowatt hour. That's up from 10.5 cents in June 2021, according to data provided by the Association of Electric Companies of Texas. That's not what a Generac's purpose is. My DeWalt genny is what they'd want for that.

Generacs are installed permanently at your residence, like a central air A/C unit would.

Its purpose is to turn natural gas into electricity on the spot, only doing so if power goes out in your residence and it automatically flips on to take over the job of powering your house.

Or... If Second and the Democrat idiots get their way and we start paying $2 or more per kWh for electricity to feed their electric car addiction you could just get one and power your house on natural gas 24/7.

Even with Biden*'s price hike, it would be cheaper to power your house on Natural Gas than it would to power it on Electric when tens of millions of people are charging their cars.

It will cost more energy for you to drive 320 miles than it costs for most people to run their entire homes for a month. Often by 2 or 3 times in non-A/C months.

And even at today's prices in states where the price is still reasonable, that's going to cost you over $20-$30 plus whatever your frequent down time waiting for the thing to charge up costs you in lost time.
