It feels good giving you a righteous smack down and then laughing at your dumb replies in lieu of anything intelligent that you're entirely incapable of responding with.
But as good as that feels in the moment, I then carry just another pebble of guilt along with me, and maybe even lost something too while I was at it.
Every once in a while you disappear. Usually not for long, except for the couple of weeks you disappeared after the election last year. But a day or two, here or there. And this isn't the first time that I've mentioned that a very small part of me does actually worry a little when you don't post.
I don't want to be a part of the reason you have a stroke or a heart attack or take yourself out one day. I need that guilt like I need a hole in my own head.
I want a happy ending for you Ted. Or at least not a miserable one, if that's the best we can do. And I think for most of us that's probably the best we really can do. And doing whatever it is that you're doing right now ain't going to leave either of those possibilities on the table for you.
Do you ever once look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself why you choose to behave the way you do, and constantly ingest the things you choose to ingest everyday, and why you choose to be miserable or why you choose to make THIS in particular the thing you're going to blame being miserable 24/7 on?
