If you recall, it was China going thru the expense and effort of building large, "instant hospitals" in Wuhan that - for me - was the "tipping point" between "is this really something, or is this nothing?" Whether they were really a functional response to the virus or a giant publicity stunt didn't matter, because they were responding to SOMETHING that was roiling Wuhan and sickening/killing people.
Way waaaaaayyy back, I alerted to a disturbance of the force coming over the horizon. I wasn't completely sure it was something, but the way the Chinese numbers and response were escalating literally hour by hour on some days, I thought it had real potential. Anyway, I don't remember if there was a single point that convinced me it was real, and that probably the reporting was far behind the curve. I think it was more a compilation of the various data.
I still wonder about how it is that N Italy (and SoCal) appears to have had an outbreak way before Wuhan. I don't think we'll ever know if that's provably true, and if so, the cause.
A lot of unanswered questions exist, and a lot of tentative information is still to be revised. And then this is a moving story, with new facts and new events all the time.

You're being just as much of an idiot as you claim JO or Ted or I is being if you really think I get any info from Memology 101.
I know he's been wrong at least twice. Just the other day about the woman who didn't realize she was white until she was 34 and once when he said that Don Lemon was fired. I bet he's been wrong a lot. I guess he's been posting for years now.
I post that because dude makes funny points that are usually under a minute long. And he does a great job of digging up headlines form a year or more ago and putting on FULL display the constant hypocrisy of the left.
As for Kiki, I see she ignored my reply to her post entirely.
So did you... But you went a step further and dismissed me completely by making my enjoyment of Memology 101 your argument.
That's a play right out of Ted's or Second's book.
Check yourself.

Your failure to read my point-by point responses is in no way my failure to respond.

Well - AHEM ! - as mentioned previously, employers have the right to demand employees do anything legal as a condition of employment. I'm not saying I support it, but it's a bit hard for me to be outraged about a ship that sailed over 30 years ago.
And schools have always required a certain level of vaccination for attendance. Again, I'm not saying I'm for it in this case, but unless laws are changed substantially, this is a done deal.
Federal workers have a choice - vaccine OR testing.
Finally, healthcare is one area where I might support universal vaccination. One should recognize that the population potentially being exposed is already extremely vulnerable, and that they're in a situation about which they don't have a choice.
But I would think that before vaccination, N95 masks should be a requirement.

A) I didn't see Kiki's post. My bad.
B) I get my information from the lies that they've told us all of our lives.
You and Kiki are on board with this one because they terrorized you.
Maybe if all other things were the same but you were my age or younger, you wouldn't be acting the way you are.

LA Times should take more care when picking their headlines.
This story is still very much STEP 4, but after the headline it's not nearly as bad as the
others that I've posted. Hell... they even go out of their way to say they disagree with
requiring vaccinations for essential services like grocery shopping.
At least everybody in the Legacy Media hasn't gone full Hitler over Covid... yet.

How about now, Kiki?

Quote:
In New York City, Mayor Bill de Blasio correctly said masking is a secondary concern when "the whole ball game is vaccination." And he is acting on it, announcing Tuesday that the city will require proof of vaccination in the form of a health pass for entrance into gyms, restaurants, and indoor entertainment venues. The city will begin enforcing the program -- the first of its kind in a US city -- on September 13, he said.
It's a necessary and overdue step. But why aren't more cities and states taking it? And more importantly: Why isn't President Joe Biden?
Quote:
The latest example is New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who on Monday said that he is asking private restaurants and bars to require proof of vaccination for entry. He's right -- they should. But why place the burden of creating sensible public health mandates on private businesses? Cuomo is, after all, the governor. If he believes, as he says, that it is in the "best interests" of these businesses -- and ostensibly the public -- to have inessential indoor events reserved for the vaccinated, why not make that the policy of New York state?

I can't even finish this article. It's so fucking bad.
That's a rarity. I can even make it through most Vox and Salon articles I read. At least they're usually unintentionally funny.
This dumb bitch actually thinks that calling them "health passes" instead of "vaccine passports" will make them work.
I bet this no-doubt-woke-as-fuck-dummy doesn't even realize that what she's suggestion means that almost no black people in New York would have any freedoms at all if it came true.
Or maybe she does and she doesn't care. Democrats are racists after all.

Overall, I think, in general, I am all for more vaccination. But I have nothing further to say on that, except that we're looking into those policies."
"As that science evolves, I evolve, with our -- with the CDC, the guidance," Walensky said. "What I will say is, I continue to be humbled by this virus. I have no interest in continuing mask guidance. And the best way to stop a new variant from spreading is to have less virus out there."

Aside from DeBlasio generally being an idiot ...
1) NYC was the COVID-19 epicenter for the US. To this date, NYC alone is the reason for the entire state of NY ranking second for per capita deaths; NYS currently at 278 per 100,000 (a bit behind NJ currently at 300 per 100,000). If NYC were counted by itself, it would blow NJ out of the water for per capita deaths by a factor of 2. And most of this happened in the span of a few short months, from ~03/24/20 to ~06/24/20. Now, maybe in your isolated hinterland you can't appreciate that not every state is like yours, and not everyone's experience is like yours. But the experience of NYC people was more like N Italy, so the residents could possibly have a different perspective than yours. ... And that leads me to to my next point ...
2) If the people of NYC don't like what DeBlasio is doing, they can vote him out. It's their city, and their vote. https://apnews.com/article/lifestyle-business-health-new-york-new-york
-city-02ebaf33bec191fa66c99fc02cf1ef1b And fortunately, you don't get to impose on them your reality of 'COVID-19 never killed anyone', and you can't vote in their city elections, and you don't get to run their politics. To reiterate: it's their choice.
Capiche?
As for your other 'points', I already addressed them. You must have failed to read. I'm sure that's the reason why you have no rebuttal to my posts at all, not even your usual sourceless claims or ceaseless trolling.

KIKI actually posted a response to your demand for a "loud and clear" declarationand AGREED WITH YOU
Then you posted ANOTHER set of agitated demands, which she ALSO replied to.
Maybe you should actually try to comprehend what other people think before you get all snarky.
Quote:And, like before: Don't live in opposite-land, which is what you'e doing. Just because they lie most of the time doesn't mean that EVERYTHING is a lie.
SIX: B) I get my information from the lies that they've told us all of our lives.
Russia, China, Cuba, Iran, N Korea ... yes, I read their English language websites. They have no interest in lying to the west or exposing the fact that this virus is causing them harm and yet ... they do. So the pandemic is real. Maybe you should get out of the M$M/anti-M$M duality and open up your sources of info to other countries, scientific studies, and maybe acknowledge a few facts here and there, huh?
Quote:And, once again, you completely mischaracterize what we've posted and where we stand, even tho we've told you LOUD AND CLEAR that we're against mandatory vaccinations in this situation.
SIX: You and Kiki are on board with this one because they terrorized you.
Maybe if all other things were the same but you were my age or younger, you wouldn't be acting the way you are.
I'm also against extended lockdowns: they should not be used except as a "circuit breaker" to allow time to figure out and address the problem. I believe I've posted that waaaaaaaay in the beginning, too.
WTF, SIX? Why are you being such an a-hole?
Screw your head back on, willya? And stop thinking with your adrenals.

So, SIX, I've been noodling on your reaction and it still seems to me that you're spoiling for a fight bc no matter how many times we AGREE with you, you just keep coming back with more angry accusations and demands.
So here's what I think.
Instead of saying that you're terrified of COVID-19, let's just say you feel threatened. Not by the virus itself .... You've made that abundantly clear, and in your age group and with no responsibility to anyone but yourself, you SHOULDN'T be worried... but you feel threatened by anyone who thinks differently. And, like many people who feel threatened, you've slipped into "flight or fight" mode, and you're lashing out, seeing people as enemies who are actually on your side.
You don't even allow others to take reasonable measures of self-protection
I would ask myself, if I were you, what the root cause of your offthechart reaction is. There must be some "ism" that's causing this. I would love to know what it is.
