Seriously. Be careful. There are A LOT of COVID scams out there right now. And I would imagine that somebody offering free money is going to con a lot of people. When and if the government announces plans to start cutting checks, you should fully expect to start seeing news stories about people who get devastated because they weren't careful and fell for a scam.

Whether or not I think it's all bullshit is moot at this point. The panic is real, and that's all that matters in our current situation.

I still firmly believe we're going to all look back on this in a few weeks or a month and laugh, and I hope that I'm right about that. But even if I am, that's not going to change the fact that at this moment we all are being forced to make changes to our daily lives that can be very uncomfortable for many of us, and I can only hope that most of it will be temporary.
Try not to panic, and if you're sent home from work try to make the most of that time.
We'll get through this.

And I freaking love the response you got - "F*CK OFF!!!!" so telling. When the going gets tough... the weak fall to pieces. I have believed for a while that we're spoiled in this country (I include myself). So now we have a real test, one that will show if we deserve what we had.
