I've heard some bad, bad things about this flick...
I think that a major studio releasing an expensive flick through a service that almost nobody has during a time where almost nobody goes to the theaters is a pretty good sign of them throwing in the towel too.
Hollywood is on life support.

Sounds like Freaky may be good. Pickatchu was a top historical Box Office earner, and Katherine Lawson was also in that.

Your time would probably be better spent watching Freaks or Freaked.
Freaks (1932): https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0022913/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_6
Freaked (1993): https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0109838/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0

Quote:Why would you say that? Freaky seems nothing like the 2 you mention. At times I can look for my copy of Freaked, but that is more akin to UHF, whereas Freaky seems to be more in the vein of Switch, Big, Freaky Friday.

I'm just saying that everything Hollywood puts out today is trash.
Funny you mention Freaky Friday though... I almost put that as an alternative too. I was just listing off GOOD movies that had Freak in the title.
But since we're talking a Freaky Friday-esque movie, might I suggest this one instead?
Vice Versa (1988): https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096380/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_90

You will need to dig much deeper, O Cinephobic One, to find a film I have not seen or don't know about.
With Free Guy coming out, Quiet Place 2, Disenchanted, and currently Freaky, I don't really believe your blanket critique. If applied to cartoons/Pixar/Captain Marvel/CGIfest, then I can agree.

You've seen Freaks then?
High on my recommended list. Not that it's especially good, but truly a bizarre time capsule so far removed from our lives now that it might as well have come from another planet. The movie itself even begins by telling you that it will be.

What have you done today to earn your place in this crowded world? :)

Quote:I confirmed that you were wrong. I enjoyed Freaks. The 4:20 show was sold out, for the whole city.

Subjective opinion, and people faced with media telling them they're going to have to lock themselves up indoors for the next 3 to 4 months.
Not really selling it.
But I'm glad you enjoyed it and didn't feel like you wasted your money.

Are the big budget blockbuster films finished for 2021 and beyond?
