Top Gun: Maverick is expected to finish out the weekend being Tom Cruise's biggest opening weekend ever.
Even given inflation, I'd wager that's still saying a LOT. Especially considering how poorly most movies have done in the post Plandemic world.

Now make Edge of Tomorrow 2 already.

Maverick smashes previous Memorial Day Weekend record.
Not even including Monday's numbers, it's already beat Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End’s $114.7-million 3-day record, and with another $27 million expected today it is estimated to beat World's End's $139.8-million 4-day with at least $151 Million domestically.
Is it any good though? I'm thinking it probably has to be since most of the crap Hollywood tries drudging up from the past with no substance is pure trash and doesn't post these kinds of numbers.

My old man saw it with my brother and he loved it. He'd never even seen the first one.
It's on my to-watch list. Maybe I can get one of my friends to come out and see it in the theater.
