George Washington wuz a wize man. Hiz final address containz a warning agenst political factionz that iz amazingly presise on wuts going on rite now with the republicanz and Trump:
Quote:
political parties must be restrained in a popularly elected government because of their tendency to distract the government from their duties, create unfounded jealousies among groups and regions, raise false alarms among the people, promote riots and insurrection, and provide foreign nations and interests access to the government where they can impose their will upon the country.

That includes the press for those of you who believe it's all lies as Trump wants you to. The wonderful thing is that our justice system is working as well.

No doubt. I just find it funny that you don't see how the neo-libs in the Democratic Party today have been doing this for the last decade.
You're not going to solve anything when you're always looking to blame the other side and not monitoring your own side, J0.
I'm happy you registered as Independent, so at least you're starting your journey to becoming woke. Maybe when you start working outside of that box you can see the deceit on both sides of the corrupt coin.

If you only vote in November, you are 8 months too late. You completely missed the only real opportunity to force politicians to understand your preferred direction for politics.
The direction of all American political parties is set during the Primary vote, where the candidates are chosen. When November comes around, you are only choosing between either a "D" or an "R". The important choice made in March 2018 is what kind of "D", from all the different "D"s available, and what kind of "R".
If your choice is a third party, a "G" for Green, you might just as well stay home because they never win the General Election. The state Legislatures and Congress are not parliaments, and there is no room, except in theory, for third parties in America's state and federal constitutions. George Washington was thinking there would be no political parties, just the best man winning each election, out of dozens, hundreds, thousands of simultaneous electoral contests. George sure got that wrong.

Too many Americans want to call themselves "Independents", thinking "outside the box" or whatever their preferred delusions about themselves. They will not choose a party, so they can't vote in the Primary election, so they end up with absolutely no choice about who is running for office in November. Then it all comes down to either "D" or "R", between Bad or Worse. A real estate analogy might make it clearer. Instead of "D" or "R", you a choosing between an apartment or a house, but the evil twist is that the real estate agent picks the address of your house or apartment, not you. About 41% of Americans are renters. You won't like that, would you? But that is what happens when you don't vote in the Primary. Somebody else picks the address where you live. But at least you still get to decide whether to rent or own, except that isn't the most important choice you need to make if you want to be happy about America.

Each election is an opportunity to make change.

Unless your house is paid for, you do not own it. That is one of the biggest lies in America. And even if you do own it, you're still renting it from the Government if you live in a dying state with ludicrous property taxes like Illinois.
I chose where I live. I had a lot of choices available to me. I wanted to be close to family, low property taxes, plenty of space and to pay for the house with cash. The only choice I really didn't have in the matter was forcing somebody out of their house who wasn't selling.
I don't understand your Real Estate analogy.
You're right about the Primaries, but you're wrong about independent thinking. You're a neo-liberal sycophant all the way. You wouldn't understand it anymore than the neo-cons would.
Do Right, Be Right. :)
