IDK. Will it escalate the fighting ? If the Russians reply as they've done in the past, it may very well.

Am curious as to how it was brought down. Where'd that weapon used originate, and how did it get there.

Weapons are US. Probably CIA/ Deep State out of Benghazi. Several hundreds of thousands of tons of military equipment were shipped, and it's still there.

The US role in Syria is up in the air, no pun intended. Originally it was run by the CIA/ Deep State via Clinton, with a nod and wink from Obama (not that he would have dared do otherwise). Trump seems to be dialing down the footprint of the CIA/ Deep State in favor of the military proper. They are still old cold warriors with a bullseye on Russia.

But even at somewhat reduced levels, the CIA/ Deep State is only nominally under control of the president and is still active as an independent actor.

I do wonder if McCain's fingerprints were at all on those weapons , and possibly Hillary's , and if it passed through Libya, at any time.

Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured... but not everyone must prove they are a citizen

Most likely U.S. or Israeli made, and sold to the "rebels" by either the U.S. or Israel, two of the largest arms dealers and terrorist suppliers in the area, if not the world.
