Men -vs- Women: Sexual assault.
Some men are gentlemen and very protective of women.
I have no idea what percentage of men enjoy sexually assaulting women.
I hope the number is less than 20%; but in real life, and when alcohol
is involved, I suspect it's closer to 35%.
6IX, for you to repeatedly post so defensively ... you act like the
survey is pointing the finger at You! Get a grip, please!
I was suddenly groped by an acquaintance about a year ago ... it came
as a complete surprise as he'd always seemed pretty straight arrow.
It was uncalled for, disgusting, & I've avoided him ever since.
The survey is pointing the finger at men who DO sexually assault women.
... oooOO}{OOooo ...

The survey isn't pointing a finger at me. The survey is one of many things out there that the Liberal MSM is using to continue with the narrative that women are being victimized, and men are to blame. PATRIARCHY!
Most people are stupid, naive and gullible, and that includes women. I'm not worried about what intelligent and independent women think of a man like me, because they aren't manipulated by the media so easily. Then there's people like you-know-who on these very boards who sees me as a white male with privileged and only sees another Donald Trump type character.
Then you've got idiot, elitist, actually-over-privlidged men like Damon Young of GQ Magazine who says things like the following about ALL men:
Quote:
The scope and the pervasiveness of this culture of abuse and our roles in perpetuating it—and not “our” as in men collectively but ourselves specifically—has resulted recently in a reflexive and unwieldy and messy and self-conscious excavation of memories, relationships and interactions: a digging that has intersecting intents. It’s reconciling with what you might have done—and might currently be doing—to prevent yourself from doing it in the future. And, well, it’s asking yourself, “How fucked up am I?” Which, expressed another way, is “Wait ... should I be worried about this avalanche, too?”
The answer, of course, is hell fucking yes. We are all complicit. We are all agents of patriarchy, and we’ve all benefited from it. We are all active contributors to rape culture. All of us. No one is exempt. We all have investments in and take deposits out of the same bank. And we all need to accept and reconcile ourselves with the fact that, generally speaking, we are trash.
Speak for yourself and keep your projections the hell away from me, you virtue signalling, college-brainwashed, Regressionist Liberal, sad-sack apologist twat. Go fuck yourself, Mr. Young.

LOL....
I think that "Wild Cougar" would be a totally unbearable Feminist person to be around, but even she thinks that Mr. Young is full of shit and I actually had a laugh out loud moment reading her reply to his article.
She's under no illusion that all Mr. Young was doing here was a grand show of self-righteous virtual signalling in his article.
Quote:
Wait, I think I get it. Calling yourself trash is how men deal with the fact that they actually like patriarchy and misogyny because it benefits them. So they show shame and that covers up for the fact that they still want dominance. If you say “I’m trash” and do a little performative feminism, you can avoid changing the status quo and get credit at the same time. That’s what this is, right? Just like wypipo who come on here and performatively flog themselves as a last ditch effort to maintain dominance and still look like the good guy at the same time.
“I’m a man and I’m trash” keeps you in a superior position. You’re the bad guy who acts. You’re the agent. You have the power, you are the center of the discussion. Look at you, flogging yourself. You can decide to not be trash but it is all about you and your agency and you create reality. Right now reality is the spectacle of you calling yourself trash. No status quo change needed in this narcissistic shame show. Status quo change would require that you first STFU.

SIX, why are you defending men who (you say) are nothing like you?
Let's grant that men are discriminated against in matter of family law (marriage and children), which seems to be your big main beef. (BTW, none of which you've had experience with, or are likely to ever experience, given your attitude.) Let's also admit that sex crime laws are variably enforced and can include peeing on a lawn at 2AM, and that the line between what is and isn't allowed should be sharpened.
That is an entirely separate issue from the harassment/ assault/ rape that many women have experienced, and that a certain percentage of young men admit to having done.
I myself has been harassed (for years) and groped. OONJ was groped. KIKI knows someone who was raped. Of the women here on the board, that's a rather high percentage, don't you think? Then why are you in denial about it?
It's not like saying that BECAUSE some men are assholes/ criminals, that men (in general) shouldn't have equal rights in family court. Admitting one doesn't deny the other.
It's not an EITHER/OR situation. Women should be free of unwanted touching, free of rude-to-intimidating public behavior, and of course free of sexual coercion and rape.
Men should have their right equally respected in court. In fact, I would go further that I think MEN should be free of being physically intimidated by other men.
Who would say "no" to that?
At the same time that I think that people (in general) need to make wise choices about who to get drunk or high with, and that those who are physically and mentally capable SHOULD be able to defend themselves (Which, given that most women are smaller than men, means that physical defense is usually not possible.) I believe that people should be free of harassing-to-criminal behavior. I don't deny the existence of such behavior ... against men as well as women, because boys and men are expected to engage in cockfights, even if they're completely outgunned ... and I believe that anyone subject to that behavior should have legal redress. I put the blame for that behavior on the perpetrator, not the victim.
It's like bullying. Bullies are identifiable; only a small percentage are bullies. What is your approach to bullying? What do you think the response should be?

Bullshit Sigs.
I watched the court system allow my Mom to have full custody of my brothers and I when my Dad was by far the more competent one to be a single parent. He had even tried to start proceedings to get full custody, but was told by his lawyer that this could take years of court dates that he'd be subjecting the three of us to, and it could also cost him 50,000 dollars (80's money) to do it, and there is no guaranty he would win and in that case he'd be on the hook for HER bills too.
Then I watched the court system allow my Mom to fleece my old man of most of his wealth, and then continue to do so until my brother was 24 years old because of his disability. They probably would have been able to do it in perpetuity, had my step-dad not beat the shit out of him one night. (Granted, he was asking for it and was extremely drunk and pushed my mother into the kitchen counter so hard she fell down. I also beat the shit out of him once... he's a nasty drunk. He's in many respects a completely capable human being, just with some limitations, and he's much better now that he's been sober for a few years).
Let's not forget that the girl I got pregnant was able to get an abortion without me even knowing she was doing it. And if the roles were reversed and she decided to keep the kid and I didn't want it, we'd either be married now or I'd still be paying child support.
I am EXTREMELY tied to the family law aspect of relationships. It's fucked my life since I was 5 years old.
Please read my last post.
I am NOT defending men who abuse or harass women.
I AM saying that how the Liberal MSM is portraying ALL MEN today is toxic.

Right. As I said, it was a bullshit study.Quote:They're not trying to represent 300 million people. Not 150 million, or even 30 million. They're representing somewhat less than 9 million male full or 3/4 time college students 18-25.

I don't buy polling data when they randomly sample a few thousand out of 300,000 million people, but at least they're using ALL of the data.Quote:It's computer-driven. Apparently you have no idea about statistics - what the fundamental ideas are, the mathematics used, how it's carried out.
jack
but who was there to oversee the "randomization" process?
This PARTICULAR study is notable partly because it experimented with web-based surveying, rather than proctored/ administered surveying. Apparently people are more forthcoming when dealing with a computer than when in the presence of, or directly interacting with, another person, or persons.
So, this study was biased toward Women who spend every minute glued to their phones, as opposed to responsible men who, say drive while watching the road?
How enlightening.

To Sigs...
I do have to apologize for my less than stellar wording of the post that ended in a quote from Mr. Young's article and what I said afterward.

I'm thinking it's possible you thought I was calling you a twat? I was speaking to Mr. Young, and all of those insults were for him.
Just wanted to clear that up in case that's why you replied like you did.

Quote:I've put up with my share of catcalls, ogling and come-ons, which led to me dressing in the American burqa - jeans, 'T', and a huge sloppy overshirt. I've also been stalked and harassed 3 times - each time I was on foot in an isolated area, trying to get from here to there, and the man (two white, one black) was in a car following me for blocks. And I was physically beaten by a man (though at the time I thought the man was just trying to push me down to grab my purse. Though he never did grab my purse, and the dozen bruises I found on my body the next day showed I had been punched).

I didn't mention it because I wanted to keep myself out of the discussion.
I suspect every woman who posts here has had at least one notable instance of being victimized in a sexual way by a man because she's a woman.
HAS IT NOT OCCURRED TO YOU BY NOW THAT IF YOU HAVE TO RESORT TO LOGICAL FALLACIES AND TROLLING YOUR SO-CALLED ARGUMENTS ARE LIES?

That's probably True.
I don't believe that men, in general, are violent pigs.
I think most are decent.
But sooner or later, you're gonna meet a violent pig.
