Sounds like it was a practice game, and it sounds like they have a lot of excuses. Some of them sound legit...
But here's the thing, right. I don't know a single man, whether they're young or old, that would sit back and allow themselves to be embarrassed like that for any reason or excuse.
One would assume that if you are a team made up of what are to be some of the most elite female players of the sport in the world, that taking the 2nd half of a practice game at least somewhat seriously if you've allowed a Jr. Varsity team of 14 year olds to take the lead from you. Especially when half of the work you do every season is try to raise your pay and say what you're getting paid isn't fair.
I don't care if the best half of their roster took the day off of practice. Any pro team out there shouldn't lose to a group of 14 year old boys as long as they have enough bodies to fill all of the positions of that game. Hell... I'd argue that they should be able to easily do that with one less player AND with no substitutes tagging anybody out by the end of the game.
I guess the only logical step would now be for them to have an official match against the 14 year old boys with their full roster and the wi-fi blockers turned on so the ladies who aren't on the field can't use TikTok and Instagram until the game is over.
