I think it may have something to do with Sig's endless need to criticize America. Being Polish of Russian descent she's jealous. I believe also to establish herself as an intellectual. The problem she has is her take on things is corroded with misinformation and lies. Her self-centered climate corrodes ideals and concerns about social justice. Therefore she always seeks out and even believes propaganda.

The legal argument was that only if Hamilton had been shot and died in New York would New York have gone to trial. Across the Hudson River, New Jersey was making a mirror image of that same argument. Only if Hamilton had been shot and died in New Jersey would New Jersey have gone to trial. In a similar facetious legal argument, Mitch McConnell and 42 other GOP Senators said they would have convicted Trump for inciting an insurrection that killed 7 people but could not because the trial ended after Jan 20th. If only the trial finished a little sooner but Mitch sorrowfully said he could not convict because that date had passed. Read what Mitch said:
“January 6th was a disgrace.
“American citizens attacked their own government. They used terrorism to try to stop a specific piece of democratic business they did not like.
“Fellow Americans beat and bloodied our own police. They stormed the Senate floor. They tried to hunt down the Speaker of the House. They built a gallows and chanted about murdering the Vice President.
“They did this because they had been fed wild falsehoods by the most powerful man on Earth — because he was angry he’d lost an election.
“Former President Trump’s actions preceding the riot were a disgraceful dereliction of duty.
Then McConnell says he can't convict Trump for insurrection because he feels it is unconstitutional after January 20th to even hold a trial. Trump's lawyers said so and that was good enough for McConnell who saw no reason why Trump's lawyers would lie. It just so happens that there are no lawyers but Trump's shysters who will place their reputations at risk for the idea that it's unconstitutional. A previous set of 5 lawyers working for Trump quit a week before the trial because that argument was stupid and embarrassing, but not stupid enough to stop Signym or Trump.
