Gina Tores, who plays Zoe on Firefly, is one of the faces to watch out for this Fall according to USA Today.

Who she is: Torres makes her debut Friday in Fox's highly anticipated Firefly, the latest series from Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon. She's Zoe, a soldier-turned righthand-woman to the captain of the spaceship.
Why you might know her: Action has been Torres' TV life, and it hasn't always been good to her with roles in M.A.N.T.I.S., Hercules and Cleopatra 2525. All that exercise did finally pay off last season, though: She played Sydney's nemesis Anna Espinosa in ABC's Alias.
Why you will know her: TV is brimming with beautiful, kick-butt heroines, and Torres can hold her own with the best of them. But it takes more than just a good right to be a series star. On Firefly (8 p.m. ET/PT), she's the captain's confidante, the pilot's wife and a calming yet often dryly funny voice. To the extent the captain is the father figure on this outer-space Stage Coach, she's the softening maternal influence.
All that softening doesn't stop her from jumping in and doing her share of the fighting. Really, didn't you used to hate the way Stefanie Powers cowered in a corner whenever Robert Wagner fought on Hart to Hart? I always wanted to say, "If he dies, you die. Hit someone."
Torres will hit. She might even make you like it.
What she has to say: "You have to have a spirit of warrior in you. You're going to be facing battles as a woman in this industry and a woman of color. You have to be prepared to face battles of respect and pride and sexuality, and you can't tire of fighting."

The one negative thought I have about Firefly at this point is that maybe Gina Tores is a little too pretty to play the first mate of rag-tag spaceship crew. I mean, she has the kind of face that makes you blink and stare. Very distracting.
Oh well, what do I know. I also think Gwenyth Paltrow is attractive. All my friends assure me she's "too bony" or "too frigid".
