I agree, they own the domain. I'm just not convinced that the content currently there is official content.
It doesn't have the feel of other Universal sites.

It's official content. Chris Buchanan just posted on the OOB that it was official. I think the site is incomplete since I don't think they were expecting us so soon but they didn't realize we were watching and the hour it went online every Firefly board had it posted.
By the way, in less than 12 hours, the site has over 1000 members and is now timing about 5 new members every minute. I think the site will hit at least 3000 members by the end of the day.
Oh, and play Cantr II at www.cantr.net.

but the browncoats bit doesn't really have content, its just a community site, and the way that chris b was talking it sounds like the system has been recently developed, rather than it being a board that they've implemented and used elsewhere, so it aint gonna look like any previous universal stuff imho. and the www bit just has the synopsis and blog to it currently.

I just noted something about the board in question. If you look at the footer it has a link labelled something like Official Serenity Website, which takes you to the official Serenity movie website (coming soon).
Looks to me that this board is designed as a forum for us to organize our assault on the universe and obtain world domination by the time of the premiere.
It's an official site, but it is and official Browncoat organization site, maybe?
Oh, and you get 35 credits when you post on it.

And those fuzzy graphics? Puh-leeze!
Look at the Fox site, then look at this supposedly "official" site.
Big money would produce a better website than that.
Plus, the actual official site would be up and it would be linked from the studio site simultaneously.
I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not signing up for anything at this site.

Why don't you people understand? It is the official site. Chris Buchanan said it was and www.serenitymovie.com is registered to Universal. The admin posted over at the board that they weren't ready for us and that there are still bugs being worked out. This was suppose to be a test run for only themselves but because some Browncoats have been watching the site, someone saw that it was up and posted it on these boards and well now they have 1200 members and growing and they are still trying to build a bit of the site and work out the bugs.
Because the site was only meant to be a test run that is probably why it hasn't been linked to Universtudios.com. But give it a day for Universal to link the site now since it has been discovered already.
