I'm assuming everybody else is showing 197 pages in this thread.

I have noticed on occasion that if I happened to post the 50th post on a page, and then within a few minutes I have edited it to put in an addition or correct something that wasn't worded well, which I often do, that when I click on the button to make the edit I'm in a blank page.

It seems to be a quirk of the site.

It seems when this happens the thread gets another post added to the counter even though there was no "51st" post, and the "blank page" your put into when this happens is the next page for the thread, even though you didn't make the post that should be the first post on the next page.

I've only ever noticed this when editing the last "50th" post on a thread.

If you look around, you're sure to find quite a few threads where the count is off because of this.

I assume you're only noticing this now because after 10,000 posts and nearly 200 pages the amount of extra, non-existent posts have really added up over time.

Incorrect. What you described does happen when editing the 50th post on a page, but that does not add to the list count. Or the page count - otherwise there would be a dozen extra pages just from me alone.
There are several pages of this thread with more than 50 posts.

Post-surgery is ... interesting. Many limitations: No dishwashing, vacuuming, hairbrushing I (like I have any!), dusting, food prep etc and no lifting. That doesn't leave much!

Special tight bra, drain tubes and catch bottles are a marvel of engineering, but rub.

Gotta say that waking up from surgery was difficult. I felt so relaxed, comfortable, and at ease I could have slept for another couple of hours, but I thought the recovery nurses might want me out of their hair and in a regular ward. They got that anesthesia thing down to a science! I can understand why ppl get addicted to painkillers.

I've been busy here, but mostly recently just running after a slew of issues that came up one after another. I was so hoping to make progress on my various projects. But ... not yet.

However, one of the things I made progress on is I've been looking at gas-powered chipper/ shredders for all the tree and bush trimming and removal I'm going to do soon. So I was looking at the heavy-duty types and O. M. G. They are EXPENSIVE. The cheapest runs about $550. And despite that I'd even consider buying one because it costs about $400 per day to rent one. But literally none of the ones I looked at had a rating higher than middling. And the faults were serious ones, like cracked body welds, bolt heads that sheared off during use, chunks of hammer-mill blades that got spat out of the machine at high speed like bullets, exhaust that ran so hot it set the wood on fire ... and so on. Really awful unsafe problems. Sigh. How hard could it be to design and build and sell something that works even averagely, without all the hazards?

So I talked it over with a family member, who said basically - the biggest volume reduction comes from doing the smaller twigs and branches that carry a lot of leaves and needles. The large branches (more than an inch or 2 in diameter) you can quickly and easily just cut up into pieces and use as firewood, or put in green waste.

So ... Forget those expensive pieces of junk! that really had me bollixed.

I'm going with electric chipper/ shredders than come in well under $200 and will do the most volume reduction.

It feels good to have come to what I think is a good decision, and out that step behind me.

Kinda curious how, when Kiki has extended absences, it is always at the same times when SignyM is missing, disabled, bedridden due to illness.
