At the home stretch on the shelves now. Just have to give the final coats to the tops of them. I'm waiting longer than I probably need to before I do it though because I didn't give the last coat enough time before the flip and there is some minor scuffing happening from where the shelves rested on my paint cans that are covered with paper towels for protection.
I may or may not wait another day and get the contact paper on them either tomorrow or Sunday

I'd post pictures now that they're finished, but it really wouldn't show anything since my camera isn't really high def and despite how great they look IRL with two finish coats of paint, the pictures don't really show much of a difference. Just imagine the primered pic above but a bit shinier.
I'll throw a pic up when I get the contact paper up and install them. Tomorrow or Sunday.
I'm also going to use 4 to 6 of those little rubber cabinet stoppers underneath them as legs to go on the baseboard runners so we don't have any paint on paint action. Never a good thing in a house that can get a little humid during the summer to do that. If I want to take them out for any reason or the future owners do, they won't be ripping a bunch of paint off in the process.

A friend from high school, her dad taught me how to convert for weather but that is about all I can do.
I hear ya. I almost wished I hadn't put my coat on this morning when I went out.
That sounds like a good idea for the shelves.
If you do sell, I hope the new owners won't take them out. My dad but in cupboard in one house we were living in before he sold it. I was driven back around the house when I was an adult and a later owner did rip out my dad's hard work. Saw the wood laying on the ground at the side of the house. Not nice but I guess who ever those owners were must have remodeled and they didn't fit.

Yeah... that's a bummer. A lot of people want to buy a house and then make it their own. That's exactly what I'm doing, but it was a dump when I bought it and that was the plan all along.
Whenever I am ready to sell, I'm going to be asking top dollar for the place that the local market will allow though. The whole thing is going to be move-in ready for a family with no remodeling necessary, and a lot of this work like the kitchen cabinets are real custom stuff that you're just not going to find in other houses. I would like to think that the right buyer is going to love it the way that it is, but it's not really my business what they do with it after the contracts are signed. At least I'll always have the pictures.
I actually put the feet on the bottoms of the shelves and put them up to air dry in the pantry instead of drying on top of the paint cans. Even snapped a pic. Glad I did because with the dark of night outside it really looks cool with the motion sensor LED light hitting it and the shadows it makes.
I'll put the pics up here tomorrow.

BRENDA; I did have a bit of luck today. I won 3rd. Finished with 3,670 points. Got a couple of decent hands with over 1,000 points in them.
Well, right at this moment which is 2:30pm the weather is a little iffy. It was misting when I went out this morning for mah jong and coming back. So have to see.

Oh SIX, about the paint color- I was looking at the pantry. But if the paint quality is as bad as you say, don't bother looking up the mgr and color, I'll just do a color match next time I buy. I LIKE painting, but not so much that I want to put on three coats instead of two!

AFA ppl undoing your work, IMHO there are three kinds of home buyers-
People who just want to move in
Renovators/house flippers
People who want to move in but don't notice the flaws until after
By far, most people just want to move in. A couple with careers and children - the kind of people who would be looking for a house and who can afford one -are usually too busy to think about renovations. So I think you're heading in the right direction.

KIKI I follow your logic. IMHO it takes an inordinate amount of time to hand-reduce appx 8X8X8 cuft of twigs and small branches so that it will fit into a bin.
Once you've made and tried out your purchase, do you mind doing a review? I have more items to remove eventually, mostly plantings that didn't grow true to form or are diseased in some way, so I might want to get one of my own.

Well I already looked at the bucket for you. The color is "Sea Frost", and it's in the Pittsburgh Ultra line of paint at Menards. At least with that, you can grab the right color swatch and match it to a higher quality paint.
Like I said, I think the paint will hold up beautifully once you get it up, but 3 coats is just way too much work. The only reason that I don't mind so much is because of how much of this stuff I got for dirt cheap with a huge rebate a while ago. It's also great practice for me. I think I'd like to maybe start painting on the side some day. It's a low stress job that I enjoy doing.
I was thinking that maybe the batch I'd bought during that rebate was just bad, but sadly no. The bucket of Sea Frost was from November 2019, nearly two years earlier and it still required 3 coats over a primered wall.
That being said, I am still a HUGE fan of the white HIGH-GLOSS enamel in the Pittsburgh Ultra line. It's around $28 compared to only about $16 for the flat paint in the line when they're both not on sale.

In case you missed it, I didn't do the bottom two yet because I want to buy the correct soft-close drawer slides for the bottom two shelves so you can pull them out to the front of the pantry to rotate stock of things like canned goods. It's why the 3rd shelf from the top is shorter. The top shelves are just shy of 25" deep, and the 3rd shelf is 17".

Yeah, my dad put in the cupboard for extra space is all.
I think that's why people buy fixer-uppers so they do that and sell.
