Speaking of rain ... the storm was predicted to make landfall by 8 AM. Well 8 AM has come and gone...
Still, weather has turned gusty, so rain is on its way. Those gusts are updrafts that have run out of steam (literally), cooled and are falling back down to earth, hitting the ground and going horizontal. The stronger the updrafts, the gustier the weather. Updrafts must be pretty strong bc it's pretty gusty (for LA) and I'll bet we get a lot of rain out of this one. I set my rain gage out in anticipation.
Nice thing about this storm - it's a big one! It made landfall north of the SF Bay area (about mid-state) and will rain/snow from all the way up there to all the way down here, giving half the state late and much-appreciated water.

It did rain this morning and once I got to work, my umbrella broke. Have to see if I have another one around here for just incase. Right now it is sunny out.

Well, we had two distinct rain storms pass thru today. The first dropped about an inch. Altho I'd set out my "rain gage" I was JUST picking it up so the dog wouldn't knock it over (she was running around the backyard expressing her joy of being alive) she barreled thru and knocked it right out of my hand!
The second just ended, so I'll check the gage again tomorrow, but it could have been another inch. That would put our SiCal total to about 16"... above normal for a year!

At this end we are keeping on keeping on. Medical appointments and urgent medical issues that needs addressing from now thru Monday. Then some time after that I begin my daily radiation therapy... 1 hour if driving each day for a 20-minute treatment!
So a lot of time away from home, cutting into time needed for chores and such. Don't be surprised if you don't see me much. Just taking care of business.

Glad to hear you're getting rain this year Sigs. Hope your appointment goes well.
I helped some family out with some things yesterday, and then kicked some ass with my electric project today.
Next two days are booked building some more social credit.
