I vaguely recall a rumor that google sorts results by page rank. I've got no idea what google page rank means, but somebody else does: http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2022350

I'm not a pro at this but I did have to do a lot of research into page rank and SEO (search engine optimization) for my business.
If I remember correctly, search results are related to page rank, and page rank is determined by a lot of things.
Google's page rank system is something of a secret recipe I think, but I know that part of what Google takes into accounts is link backs - so, how much, out there in the internets, is this site linked back to? I know some other fan sites have been taken down recently (the OB for instance?) so FF.net's slide down the search results could be an echo of a disturbance in the force... uh, I mean, the loss of all of those links back to this site that may have existed there and on other sites.
The search results also take into consideration the words that are used with in the site it's self. This is more complicated, but basically, "firefly" has to be used a lot in the site. I'm not sure how it works on a kind of fan board like this, but I think the word has to be with in the first 250 words (or slt) of new posts with in a certain, recent, time frame. So the fact that none of us are posting "Firefly, guys, blah blah blah" might be causing a dip in the ranking as well.
Like I said, I'm no pro, this is based off of my studies as an art major trying to figure out how to make it in the e commerce world.

Last few days have been about 22, so it's climbing up.
Scathac, sometimes yahoo seems to zero out their history cache, and then the result position drops, but seems to work it's way back as long as somebody selects it as the result that was looked for. I post this for those who are interested in this, perhaps you being one.

Today it returned to 6th place, swapping spots with fireflyfriends. On Monday FFF was up to 21st place.
Took a month.

Yesterday yahoo search engine went bonkers. Search for "Firefly" did not result in Fireflyfans in the first 180 results - and I triple checked.
Restarting the search got back to the 9th result. But that search engine has been unstable lately, putting the result in the 5th page, 4th page sometimes, a bunch of 3rd pages, and then back to the 1st or 2nd page.
