Actually I believe Superman was challenging Lois, the cynical reporter, to see that common ground and basic humanity already existed. She just needed to open her eyes a little.

Rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd put this here. This is in regards to the landing at Normandy and the 'allies' (Russia excluded) 'winning' WWII. I didn't know the details before and they are astounding:

You're right, our collective way of life in the US of A is over. Anyone not already into their 20's is going to face a far different world than us older folk did.
