Honsetly, I never read the topic, I don't know what "sharia" is and don't honestly care to know, and I know the RWED well enough to know that there was probably a lot of arguing going on before.
"Touch Myself" was lost on me. She's sexy as hell, for sure, but for me it's kind of a Madonna thing. No kid today would think Madonna was sexy, and possibly that she was never sexy when seeing pics of her flabby veiney arms today. I didn't know why she made me feel that way when i saw her videos on MTV when I was like 4 years old, but I felt that I'd do anything she asked me to. Material Girl is so tame by today's standards, but I saw that video only one single time in my early development and even when I branched out with new fantasies it was always a cornerstone.
Why am I talking about it? You grew up with it or you didn't. If you did, and you're hetrosexual, it still holds a special place in your heart.
For whatever reason, MTV became a taboo thing since it was the only thing they could agree on, and I never really fought it. I was too busy playing video games and there were plenty of sources for derivative pleasure outside of MTV. So I was the latchkey kid that watched his two younger brothers and we watched Nick shows and Thundercats and TMNT. I didn't feel I was missing anything. Between Nick shows, sexy animated girls, JC Penny weekly ads and what was already a novel's worth of kinky sex fantasies after seeing about 100 or so Skinimax 2AM movies at only 13 years old, I didn't feel I was missing much.
I see the Dyvinals video now, and although I appreciate how it could be considered sexy by a lot of men and women, it never did it for me. I probably saw it 10 years after it came out, and as a kid who never saw her until 10 or 15 years later on the internet, I look at her and think that I've dated at least 4 women who were more attractive than she was. Granted, they're all well over 30 years old and married with at least one kid now.

Control of the Knife is one of their B side songs that nobody ever heard unless they owned the CD or were at the concert or watched it on youtube. They have hundreds of videos like this, not to mention their amazingly hypnotic studio videos.
Not criticicing you or D.... just saying that there's so much more to appreciate now that everything has evolved nearly 20 years since your last favorite video.
Would I ever desire a hostile race of aliens to blast our planet to rubble without us even being aware of it happening before it happened? Of course not... what a silly question.
