Nixon resigned rather than face impeachment proceedings. Ford pardoned him from prosecution for any illegal activities HE MAY HAVE PERFORMED OR BEEN PARTY TO.

Bottom line: no he was not impeached.

No crow for me!

Nixon new by accepting the pardon he was admitting guilt. He accepted the charges in the Article of Impeachment without exception. I don't care if he was in China a freeman when he did so. By accepting guilt he completed the Impeachment process. First the Articles of Impeachment were drawn up. They were voted on to proceed. When he accepted the pardon he jumped that process to its end. The final outcome, his guilt.

Gee whiz, NOW who is jumping at straws?

I don't understand the part about bein' pardoned for crimes not yet held against him.
And I'm not willing to dig for it.

But if I do think back, that Prom was a very long dance. A lotta people doin'
a lot of steps, most of them behind the curtain.

Never argue with a fool. Onlookers may not be able to tell the difference.”
~Mark Twain

Right and all those dances revolved around the fact that Nixon would be accepting guilt if the pardon was to be issued. The democrats insisted that he did and made sure to suggest that in the press. No guilt, no pardon. Can't be done.

Merriam Webster, "Pardon; an act of officially saying that someone who was judged to be guilty of a crime will be allowed to go free and will not be punished".

"Who was judged to be guilty of a crime"....."Who was judged to be guilty of a crime".

Guilty of what, all the charges in the Articles of Impeachment. Even Gerald Ford can't change the definition in the dictionary and deem a pardon something it is not. A pardon by its very nature is given to show forgiveness for a crime. In other words, you have to admit a crime has taken place to offer it and in Nixon's case admitting to a crime in accepting it.

Honesty is the first chapter of the book of wisdom.
Thomas Jefferson

I see you gave up on just wanting a cookie.

Sorry, Merriam Webster did not write the Constitution of The United States of America.

You are admitting that MIKER is your newest sick puppet? You being the only poster known to have made sock puppet.
Well, this certainly explains a lot.

I'm sorry MIKER, but this is a classic AURaptor line. Don't sound like him if you don't want to be associated with him.
The fact is that Nixon was pardoned of crimes NOT YET PROVEN. I don't give a toss about what a pardon legally consists of, the law was BENT a little there. Happens all the time. Deal with it. He wasn't impeached, and going on like this in the face of the facts makes it seem like you are just Rappy tryin' to sound like a negatively-charged, anti-matter version of himself out to test the waters of politically fueled debate from the other side.
I was fully prepared to believe I was in error, as you plainly saw.
You need to consider yourself possibly capable of error too.

Who is this and what did he do with chrissisall? This makes too much sense for the real chrisisall to post, plus he is correct and has valid points.

Since there has been no rebuttal to my last posts, and I see some of you posting elsewhere, along with the thread count suggesting more than 100 views today, I will consider this matter closed.

Whoa!
The breezy logic swaying in the wind accidentally ventures into real facts.
I haven't read to the end of the thread yet, so how many posts before this one sways back to being convinced the lies are truths?

OK, now I've caught up to this point, which was the end of the thread at that point.
I feel obligated to mention that I was incorrect to assume or suggest that chris would sway back to the fantasy and faulty logic. He has restrained himself from then til now. Good show. Whether he accomplished that solely to prove me wrong or not is irrelevant, the achievement was made.

You could conjure that was, like, an apology, man.
